A very important book,
By
This review is from: 9 Lives, Full Circle (Paperback)
In this third book in the series, we really begin to understand the implications of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, or FASD. Jan has written sensitively about the problems that the teenage Josh encounters in his stuggle with this disorder. We feel the pain and suffering of the family that must live with FASD. This series is a very important one for anyone who deals with youth in our troubled world, and should be on every school counselor's desk.

This book had me wanting to turn the pages from the very first chapter. Yes, I have read the other two books in the three book series but I found that the author did a good job writing it so it could be read independently of the others. I was enthralled anticipating the life of Josh unfold in the pages.
One of the many positives of this book is that it is written in language that is simple enough for a wide variety of ages to enjoy but enticing enough that it holds the attention of an adult. I never knew anything about FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) before reading this and it has opened a new world of discussion with friends and co-workers about this subject. The only problem with the book...it ended too soon. After reading all three books by the author, I hope that she writes an update on how Josh is doing!

well written final for the trilogy,

This review is from: 9 Lives, Full Circle (Paperback)
I've read all three books in this trilogy with this being the final book. The story is compelling, and is one that needs to be heard by many. As a healthcare professional, I feel the series would be appropriate for prospective adoptive parents, middle and high school students, young adults, newly married couples, early child-hood intervention groups, etc. The author has written this in a style that is easily understandable by a widely varied audience from children to adults. This subject (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) needs more attention to aid in its prevention. Ms. Crossen does of good job of beginning this process.
