"I swear, if you die on me this time I'll kill myself and it will be your fault," says Alexandra, a twenty-four-year-old twenty-first-century career woman, fiercely to Ryan, who is engaged to Renate. When they met, a mutual dislike had developed, but a deep love with a sense of instant familiarity unites them. During many "agains"-riddled talks, "agains" which have no grounding in reality, they decide not to engage in an affair because Alexandra senses that she does not "want to be a home wrecker again." After a stressful time, Alexandra's mother introduces the reincarnation concept, a belief Alexandra eventually accepts. Various inexplicable events continue to plague Alexandra, Ryan, Renate and their coworkers and nobody finds an explanation until Alexandra decides to enter regression therapy and learns about C. H., Gwen and Marina from their previous lives and how they influence their present ones.
