4.0 out of 5 stars idiot, hardcore is a genre
Slipknot is not a hradcore band, they are god-awful metal crap. Blood for Blood on the other hand is a great hardcore band. This album is pretty rad even for only having 8 tracks.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST STREET MUSIC, March 24, 2006
This review is from: Livin in Exile (Audio CD)
Blood For Blood is the legendary band straight out of Boston MA. For me, Blood For Blood is a true representation of Hardcore, Street Punk, and even Rock N' Roll. "Livin In Exile" is the most influential work ever done by Blood For Blood in terms of its impacts to the scene, because no other bands had previously taken such an unique approach of combining three type of music I mentioned above. Needless to say that this album has been the best punk/hardcore EP to be released for the past years (I could not find any other good EPs at par with such a music quality). This album is so brilliant that even a friend of mine who are not familiar with any hardcore bands came to love this album. No doubt about it.

What is so great about this CD? I found that "Livin' in Exile" fills so much with melody. For example, listen the last part of "Eulogy For A Dream." You can notice a beautiful melody here. Very few bands (in any genre) can produce such a beautiful melody line. "Nothin' For You" is another outstanding track. There is also an excellent Motorhead cover of "Ace of Spades."

"Livin' In Exile" is the most underrated masterpiece that should have received more attentions from the broader audiences, because this is seriously a phenomenal work.

with a sound similar to madball blood for blood is one of this best hardcore bands ever. there is no reason not to own this cd, since it is one of the best hardcore cds every with every song a masterpiece and a motorhead cover of ace of spades, which in my opinon blasts the original out of the water.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still A Classic, November 6, 2005
This review is from: Livin in Exile (Audio CD)
Boston's own Blood For Blood dropped this album a few years ago and still to this day remains one of my favorite hardcore albums of all-time(along with Earth Crisis' 'Gomorrah's Season Ends', Converge's 'Jane Doe', and Black Flag's 'Damaged'). B4B is still, unfortunately, one of the most underrated bands in the scene. I wish these guys would get the recognition they deserve.

'Livin In Exile' is my favorite B4B release. Every song here is great. The standouts being "Cheap Wine", "Livin In Exile", "Still F***ed Up", and arguably the best song they've ever done "Anywhere But Here"(although "Wasted Youth Crew" from 'Revenge On Society' is still this band's calling card). The mixture of Buddha's growls and White Trash Rob's clean vocals is beautiful, if I can refer to a hardcore band as such. The lyrics are down and dirty, the songs are catchy as anything you've ever heard(just listen to 'Livin In Exile' and try to get it out of your head), and the album just makes you want to get up and smash something.

'Livin In Exile' is a perfect(albeit short)hardcore album. And B4B is one of the best hardcore bands you will ever hear. So if you haven't listened to them, check out this CD(and all their other ones as well). This is a blue collar band making blue collar music. Trust me: you will not be disappointed.

This CD is an esential to anyone that calls themselves "hardcore fans". With guitar so fast that you can bearly identify it and lyrics that cut you in two, Livin' In Exile is BFB's best relase yet. It's well worth it's price!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you liked "Revenge on Society" you'll love this one, October 12, 1999

Harder, faster, and seeking for the souls BFB lost so many years ago, this album destroys. This is definitely the best CD yet. BFB pushes hardcore to the max with some ill grinds and just as awesome breakdowns.
