I just discovered this wonderful group, and have listened to the CD about 4 times this evening. It touches some long-forgotten yearning for real music, the kind that you can feel all through your body, the kind that won't let you hold still. It may be a while before I listen to anything else.

Reeltime Travelers have completely rearranged my musical universe. Anyone who enjoys bluegrass, americana, folk, or traditional music of any kind will love this band and this CD, and will discover a whole new musical world. This band has enormous talent, energy, joy, and some of the most beautiful original tunes and arrangements of traditional old time tunes you will ever hear. Once you start listening you will not stop!

Great Music, Great Heart, Great Fun,

This CD is a great introduction to my current favorite band, and they've been my current favorite for a few years now! These are passionate young people playing soulful old-time music. They have received awards at Merlefest, played at the Opry, and had spots on the Down From The Mountain and Great High Mountain Tours. But these successes can't describe the purity of their music nor the enthusiastic response of their audiences, from tears to dancing in the aisles. They are loved by old folks in the hills, young folks at festivals, and musicians everywhere. Do yourself a favor and bring their music and energy into your life and share it with your friends. I'm not kidding around!

Real Soul and Great Musicianship,

Martha Scanlan is the best songwriter I've ever heard; her lyrics are full of poetic beauty and deep insights into the human soul, and her voice is so vulnerable and beautiful. The traditional pieces are delivered with brilliant musicianship by the this band of scholars. I cannot begin to tell you how much this music means to me: its like I've been searching all my life for it, and voila, here it is. Don't miss them. You'll be sorry you did.

Reeltime Travelers Rock! (In an old-time sense),

If you are a fan of old-time music or just discovering its timeless appeal you should hear this band. I first discovered the Reeltime Travelers on the Cold Mountain Soundtrack and recently caught them on the Great High Mountain Tour featuring the music of "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" and talk about a rompin' good time. When hearing this group of musicians you can't help but feeling moved and shaking your body. Mainly fiddle and banjo driven, this disc is a fantastic representation of the Travelers live show. An all acoustic mix of traditional folk music and bluegrass infused old-time dance tunes that will bring you back to a simpler time.

Real time- - - Old Time,

Great Ole Time String Bluegrass Music! Highly recommended artists that keep with strictly traditional bluegrass music. No hype, just solid good bluegrass music. Saw them on the Great Mountain Tour and promptly bought the album during intermission. Bear Creek Blues, Hallelujah, & Little Bird of Heaven are my favorites, but none of the tracks will disappoint fans of traditional mountain music. Strong effort from start to finish!

...but until you've seen fiddler Heidi Andrade furiously clog dance on stage and then pick up her fiddle and blow the roof off the dump, you haven't gotten the full experience of the Reeltime Travellers. Beautiful old-time playing and singing...

This CD never gets old to me.
I love nearly every song. It's mostly old timey but the style puts a tremendous amount of vitality into every song. One of my favorites!
