A nice comeback, April 14, 2004
Not up to par with her 1940's seesions, however considering Brown recorded less then 50 sides in her career this cd is a welcome comeback from later in her obscure career. Some inspiring piano playing, and some ok vocals. This cd is great, and a lot of fun, overpowering talent from this ageless lady of swing. A lot of gospel and it all swings very nicely. Recomended, but start with her 1935-51 cd 1st. Also listen to the samples, if you don't like those, you may not want to purchase this. But try her classic 30's sessiosn when she recorded the classic "When" and "Your A Heavanly thing"
