I got this for an Art 101 class I am taking and honestly I am very surprised. For a textbook, it is remarkably easy to read, informative and interesting. I love how the author draws the reader in with numerous examples and of course photos of different art works. He covers many different topics. This book is really a joy to read. It is helping me knowledge of art expand so much.

Having taught art appreciation well over thirty times, I have come to rely on this text. Looking at the competition, it is the only book that covers everything. Living with Art is digestible for my students, witty enough for the seasoned professional in me and makes it easy to cover aesthetics, design principles, media and a brief history of art... all in one term. My favorite component is Connect Art. With Connect, I am able to present even more information via this online component, as well as, track my students' progress between exams. Because of the tailored online Connect exercises, my exam scores and final averages have improved as much as 15 per cent. I highly recommend this text.

I wouldn't read this outside of having to read it for class, but, it's entertaining and I'm learning alot without having to stop and reference a dictionary much (I hate that! Speak average college-student language, please.) Lots of pictures and go into detail about them which is really nice.

Package arrived timely but was partially open. The book came with a rip in the front cover and spine(looks ripped and chewed,a part missing) and curled edges. I wasn't happy with the rips.

This book was cheaper than what my bookstore figured I should pay for it.

Entertaining to read. Its a pretty comprehensive book with artwork on every page. I think this might be the first book for I actually want to keep!

No complaints, nothing to rave about. The product was as it was advertised, in the condition it was advertised and came in a timely manner. Simple enough :).

I bought this book for my art class and saved a lot of money then I would have if I had bought it from the bookstore!

I ORDERED THIS BOOK YESTERDAY AUGUST 18 AND I RECEIVED IT AUGUST 19 IT WAS AWESOME! I NEEDED THIS BOOK FOR TOMORROW AND I GOT IT IN RECORD TIME U GUYS ARE AWESOME

I'm trying to find where i can ask more info about this book, but i couldnt find any contact place so I post my question here. I just wonder if the book include the online access code there which accompany with the book?

This book arrived before the predicted time frame and was in excellent condition. I am only half way through it but it is filled with beautiful drawings, painting, sculptures, and etc. I love this purchase. No markings were on the pages. Very smooth transition. Thank you, Amazon.
