We already are beyond war.,
By Tony Lee (Wayland, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Living Beyond War: A Citizen's Guide (Paperback)
The timing of this book and the appropriateness of its message is right on. Beyond War was once a Utopian goal, but is now a pragmatic necessity. In fact, a close examination of all recent wars tells us we already are beyond war, but we just don't know it yet. Winslow Myers' book makes a clear and compelling case for changing the way we think about war.

A way to live for a sustainable future,
By
This review is from: Living Beyond War: A Citizen's Guide (Paperback)
Winslow Myers has written a comprehensive, easy-to-understand path to helping to sustain life on the planet. He poses the problem, summarized by Albert Einstein in 1946, "The unleashed power of the atom has changed everything, save our modes of thinking, and thus we drift toward unparalleled catastrophe." After a compelling overview of the problem facing our world in terms of threat of annihilation due to nuclear war, either intentional or accidental, he takes the reader through a step-by-step means of living and educating others that will produce societal change. Just as we have changed our modes of thinking about slavery, women's right to vote, and segregation, Winslow shows us how to change our thinking about war, and how to be stewards of our planet. An excellent book.

An important dialogue!,

This review is from: Living Beyond War: A Citizen's Guide (Paperback)
This is an insightful and thought-provoking book. It is about both the reasons WHY we must move beyond war, and more importantly, HOW we can do it. If you are interested in creating the positive - having meaningful dialogue with both those who agree with you and those who don't; being able to articulate how we can get to a world beyond war; and, working together with others to get there - then this book is a must read. I've already passed it on to others, and we've had meaningful discussions about its proposals. It is a great contribution to the wave of hope and change.
