Growing up my mom used to play these tapes for me almost every night. I have also use them for my own kids. I have looked all over for a new modern version of dramatized Bible audio but I cannot find one that even comes close to the quality of this one. My only wish is that they would release it on CD. I have gone through many sets of audio cassettes over the years and it is getting harder and harder to find them.
The Living Bible is a paraphrase and not a true translation. It is not intended for serious Bible study. The Living Bible was intended for children to be a step between story books and a real true translation. Many people have criticized the Living Bible version over the years because some people have tried to use as an authorized translation version for adult. The Living Bible is intended to be used for children that are too old for story books but too young to read a real authorize translation version of the Bible. And for this purpose it is excellent.

This dramatize version of the Living Bible in audio form is the best audio bible for middle aged children that you will find. It is exciting and engaging for children to listen to. You can try to make them listen to some old boring man with an English accent read the King James but if they don't understand it and aren't engaged by it then what's the use?
