4.0 out of 5 stars Don't listen to "retro_styled_crooner", January 7, 2005
This review is from: Living in Black Paradise (Audio CD)
"retro_styled_crooner" stole his/her review from allmusic.com. Living in Black Paradise is one of the more underrated new jack releases of the early '90s. Mixing new jack swing with the smoother Foster/McElroy production talent that buoyed En Vogue, it proved to be a sultry, hip set that went far beyond his "one hit wonder" status.

I had been trying my hardest to figure out who sings "So You Like What You See." Everyone I asked had no idea what I was talking about. The chorus goes, "So you like what you see (you like), you better put a hold on me (get with the program)." This will always be one of my favorite songs of the new jack swing era. I don't think this album as a whole is a classic but it is decent. "So You Like What You See," is a classic song though. He was the voice behind the classic "Lean On Me," from the movie.
