5.0 out of 5 stars A new voice, a new artist, a new humanity...., October 2, 2001

This review is from: Living on Bread & Circus (Audio CD)
For those of us who hunger for the experience of REALITY - for those words, that music that doesn't just touch our hearts, but shakes them awake, Cara Tower has arrived like a bolt from the blue. 'Living on Bread and Circus', her first album on the Raw Dog label, will have you playing first one track, then another, over and over again as you first try to take it all in, then begin to marvel at the incisive observation, the sheer poetic guts of an artist who sees life and who knows it for what it is.
If your sense is for the theatrical, listen to a young, scared, courageous Joan of Arc as she passes a lonely vigil the night before battle in 'La Pucelle'. If you are haunted by that nagging feeling that there must be something more to life, 'Infinitely Inseparable' will prove to you that you are not alone, even as 'As Real as the Breath', will tell you that that something more really does exist. If you are a lover of love songs, then 'Come to me' and 'As We Are' will leave you with a deeper sense of what Love is all about.
Every artist who lets it all come from the heart advances everything that is good in life, for all of us. I have not even touched on the social commentary in the other tracks... Buy this CD. You will, for once, really get your money's worth.
