5.0 out of 5 stars A true feel for Manu
This video allows the viewer to get a true feel for the rain forest region of Peru. While an actual visit to the Manu gives the traveler a sensory overload missing as much as one sees-this video highlights the natural beauty and diversity that makes this region so incredible. From flocks of macaws to the river otters the photography captures the essence of why this...

3.0 out of 5 stars not for young kids
This is a decent documentary on an Amazonian rain forest. It shows lots of wildlife and has some interesting footage, particularly of the Harpie Eagle. There is also fairly good footage of sloths, spider monkeys, peccaries, jaguars, howler monkeys, parrots, a taper, and some rodents that aren't in N. America. However, note that part of the theme is predators and prey...

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Film, March 21, 2010

This is a beautifully-made film. Great cinematography. Great footage. My husband and I visited Manu National Park in Peru
last year, which is one of the wonders of the world. I would say that this film captures the spirit of the untouched
rainforest in that area. Also, some of the best footage of a Harpy Eagle growing up and fledging I have ever seen, not to
mention jaguars, tapir, scads of monkeys, giant otters, sloths, etc. I also loved the musical score.

However, note that part of the theme is predators and prey. There are lots of shots of things getting eaten or dying. In particular, the shots of baby monkeys getting eaten were hard for my 5 year old to take (the 9 yr old was fine however).

C'mon...what a bore. I couldn't make it throught he video. I bought it as something for my class, but ended up substituting a video about Bats: Creatures of the Night.

Borrow it from the library first. (Sorry National Geographic)
