Fires the Imagination!,
By Diana Huang "Always on the look out for awesome." (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Living Edens - The Lost World - Venezuela's Ancient Tepuis (DVD)
This place is really really special and this film is a rare gem. After watching it I bought a copy of Lost World by Conan Doyle. While I'm reading it I realize how much the land has directly influenced our pop culture when it come to mythology of dinosaurs. Even with new scientific knowledge of everything, you see the same elements pop up in things like Duck Tales, cheesy claymations and that old show Land of the Losts. If you go to Neopets.com there is again the idea of dinosaurs living high up on a plateau and his own ideas of primitive humans. All the ingredients are in Doyle's book which were inspired from his travels to that place. Quit extraordinary. So unreal. Everyone should have a look at the documentry it is very inspiring for the imagination!

From beginning to end this documentary was very well done. Not only was the information thorough but the camera shots were breathtaking. I highly recommend this video to anyone interested in the tepuis of South America!

Expected More...,

This review is from: The Living Edens - The Lost World - Venezuela's Ancient Tepuis (DVD)
First, the positives: Great photography. That about covers it.Now, the negatives: The constant "brass" music became overwhelmingly annoying. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, there was little detail about the biological and botanical discoveries; there was little to no information on whether or not any aboriginal people now or ever lived on the tepuis. I realize this plateau has not been thoroughly explored, but a bit more information would have been welcome. I probably would not purchase this dvd.
