Love the voice and the writing of David Essex. Especially like the version of Jacque Brel's "Song for Old Lovers" as well as the big hits. Wish there were more albums from David. I find it hard to be critical of any of his work.. With that voice he could sing the phone book and I'd love it.

A fairly sharp collection of tracks that David Essex has recorded for various albums and singles in Britain. A lot of these songs were hits and some deserved to be, especially the terrific soul ballad "A Shoulder to Cry On." But some of the other recordings, especially the cover tunes, are pointless.
