5.0 out of 5 stars Many excellent suggestions that you'll be able to put to use, January 11, 2004
This review is from: Living an Extraordinary Life (Hardcover)
Heard the taped version of LIVING AN EXTRAORDINARY
LIFE by Robert White and Dennis Becker . . . its promise was a big one;
i.e., to present "8 Power Principles to Create a Life of Meaning and
Abundance."

But the authors deliver--and then some . . . they give many
excellent suggestions that are applicable in almost any situation.

I also like their contention that success can be yours if you
can learn more about and begin to apply the skills of awareness,
responsibility and communication . . . moreover, they add that
"even a small improvement in understanding and application
will make a huge difference in your experience of living."

Among the many fine ideas that I got from listening were these:
Before your head hits the pillow tonight, ask yourself: What do I wish
I had said or done? Then say or do it now!

Imagine if you were participating 100%. Do so.

There's a world of difference between watching things happen and
making things happen.

Creating an extraordinary life requires 100% commitment.

You can accomplish very little yourself. You need the help and
support of others.

Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it.

The idea that you can cause somebody else to suffer with your
anger is an illusion.

A "have to" attitude sets you up for negative feelings. Instead,
say "I choose to." (For example, when thinking about going to work
in the morning.)

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what
you've got.

Get used to saying: I acknowledge your point of view. Here's my
point of view.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring and down-to-earth, April 23, 2006
I loved this book because of the real-people stories. This book is a down-to-earth guide on how to live in the moment and what it takes to live responsibly--and, therefore, successfully. Thanks to Robert White for sharing so much of his expereince and lessons.

Robert White's book should be issued as standard equipment as you exit the womb and referenced every day for the rest of your life.

We tend to think that living an extraordinary life must be complicated and difficult - but it's easy. It's far easier than living a difficult and mundane life. It's all about perception. I wish I had learned his lessons long ago.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Master Accountablitly Teacher of our time, March 14, 2006
This is the most powerful book I have ever read about accepting responsibility for every thing in your life and the power that it has to change your attitude in so many ways. I was impressed with Robert White's no nonsense style and the ability he had to cut through all of my distorted thinking habits.

I have benefited from Robert's experience, insight and wisdom for a number of years. One of Robert's great gifts is helping others live an extraordinary life. He has captured his gift in the pages of this book to the benefit of all of us that read it. I personally found it to be of such great value that I have sent many copies to my clients. A book really has to be of the highest value for me to personally endorse it, send it to my clients and put my credibilty on the line. Living an Extraordinary Life always hits the mark.

Talk about going from good to great. This is real stuff that will impact anyone who reads it. It is not fluff & stuff.

Robert shares it all...and in a way we can all benefit. I appreciate his candor and everything he shares in this book.

It is very special. Buy one for someone you care about...personally or professionally...Larry
