5.0 out of 5 stars A classic rock album that continues to inspire., May 6, 1999
This review is from: Living Eyes (Audio CD)
Coming after the groundbreaking 'Radios Appear' this album clearly has a more 'produced' feel to it,though it lacks none of the passion that characterised the band.Songs like 455 SD and Burn My Eye contain enough energy to run a small town. The perfect album to drink to and remember just why it was you always wanted to start a punk rock band. This album is so good it deserves six stars, not just five.

Very good CD... some kind of ramones stuff but anterior to them, more complex and melodic, maybe good-punk-rock-with-a-little-pop. This Australian group have always been a musical reference for a many bands (e. hellacopters), althougt they only recorded few albums and dissapeared. Their music is fast, rythmic and well done, once you've herared it you'll never forget. They know how to rock.

5.0 out of 5 stars You haven't lived 'til you've heard Radio Birdman, January 15, 1999

The best Aussie band ever. If you're into MUSIC check out Living Eyes and the rest of the Radio Birdman albums available. These guys have an amazing sound with tracks like Smith & Wesson Blues & Burn My Eye 78, going off. A sound similar to MC5 & The Stooges, who could ask for more! Radio Birdman is Rob Younger, Deniz Tek, Pip Hoyle, Chris Masuak, Ron Keeley & Warwick Gilbert. Check them out, you won't be sorry!

5.0 out of 5 stars the birdmen flew, February 1, 2004

the reason for the ten point review is simple although this was a band on their last legs and infighting had ruined the sessions, this is easily their best work later or earlier . recording must have a welsh flavour to it because apart from the bass the production values are tight, with good strong lyrics and a lithe etheral doors type sound and cooper band type lyric. the band though they may vehemently disagee was probably strengthend by a new south welsh band playing their haunted road home of monmouth wales. some of the older songs will please the die hard birdmen fans, but birdmen connoisseurs, supposing they are will like the nod to the doors and later alice sound'detroit leaning'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scano, March 15, 2003

This Sydney band is legendary along with The Saints outta Brisbane and The Ramones from the States. All incorrectly labelled 'punk', they wrote great rock'n'roll songs that could only be delivered the way they played - great power and energy.
'Living Eyes' recorded in Wales just before their split in '78 is an absolute must in every person on this planet's collections. As with the previous two Birdman albums, just follow the instructions given on the reverse of their first album 'PLAY LOUD'. You'll understand why after afew plays. Then you will know why I have regarded Birdman as one of the 'GREAT' bands of all time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure power quality, March 20, 2002

Sydney in the 70's produced 2 world class bands that deservedly became contempories of Iggy and the Stooges, the Clash and the Pistols. They were Radio Birdman and The saints. (not neccesarily in that order), These are the guys that bore the brunt of the commercialism of the day and did the hard yards that laid the road out for bands like Midnight Oil and the Hoodoo Gurus to tread in the coming years. If you like real Energy in your music and you like it Raw get a Birdman album, you wont be dissapointed.
Radio Birdman are one of the most musicaly important bands to ever sling a guitar strap over their shoulders that Australia has ever produced.
