BOSTON STREET PUNK,
This review is from: Living in the Fallout (Audio CD)
Far From Finished is the band from Boston, and is the most underrated band that should have received more attentions than they have enjoyed now. This album (2nd full length) was, without hesitations, among the best CD came out in 2007. The band culminated the songwriting at this album, along with expanding their unique melancholic lyrics. Other noticeable changes are the inclusion of the keyboard (or organ) in their instrumentation, effectively thickening their sound.
Seriously, there are several phenomenal songs here, including "Roses & Razorblades," "The Imposer," "Broken," and "A New Tune." These are all very extremely catchy, sticking your ear for as much as you can remember. The CD finishes with a beautiful mellow song "Living in the Fallout." Soon after, you would be sure to repeat the album all again from the beginning. I consider "Living in the Fallout" CD as the masterpiece, but also consider it to be conceptually distinct from the groundbreaking debut "East Side of Nowhere." Their debut album was more in-you-face, sing-along, and belong-to-the-street representation. "Living in the Fallout" is more mature, professional, and diverse in a very good way. The songs like "The Imposer" and "A New Tune" are very carefully structured to provide a few unexpected hooks that the listeners would be first sure to be stunned. For example, "The Imposer" has the keyboard arrangements at the middle. Also, the production level is very high. I also recommend to purchase the hard copy of this CD, rather than downloading via Itunes, because I had a problem with hearing very negligible noises at AAC format when downloading from Itunes, which I found that an actual CD does not have a trouble with, after I also purchased the hard copy of the CD. Anyway, Far From Finished is on tour with another legendary band US BOMBS, and you can be no wrong to attend the shows whenever they come by the your way.
