A Springboard to Good Health,
By Kimberly Quigley Singel "dragon lover's mom" (Grapevine, TX United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Living Foods Lifestyle (Paperback)
For me, "The Living Foods Lifestyle" was a springboard to acheiving good health again. After several years of suffering from a poor quality of health (due to chronic migraines, fibromyalgia, hypothyroidism, candida among other health challenges...), this book inspired me to take the next step to acheiving amazing health. The student testimonials gave me the courage to take responsibility for my own health challenges. Brenda Cobb's book highlights common sense logic about how good health can be achieved and maintained. The simple and easy lifestyle she describes (through her research based on Ann Wigmore) and her own healing of cancer, allergies and digestive challenges is empowering. With discipline, an open mind and heart, the healing can begin for you as it has for me. I am so grateful to have my life back! I can have refreshing sleep, think more clearly and be productive. I can finally say I have energy...these are words that I haven't been able to say in over seven years. I am able to experience the joy of being a mother and wife without the intense and disabling pain I'd feel throughout my body due to fibromyalgia & migraines. If you suffer from a health challenge, do yourself a favor and learn about the living foods lifestyle. Good health and a positive attitude are obtainable. You can do it!

Great book for revitalizing your body,
This review is from: The Living Foods Lifestyle (Paperback)
I did not realize until getting part of the way through this book that there is a difference between a "living foods" lifestyle and a raw foods lifestyle. I thought I was buying a raw foods book. Instead, I learned about living foods -- those foods that are fermented/sprouted and are thus "live" with enzymes. This eating program would be difficult to tackle on your own without significant motivation or attending one of the author's seminars on how to prepare the foods. This book would be a lifesaver for anyone with a serious disease such as cancer. However, most people won't be able to make a go of this lifestyle without significant effort and willpower to prepare these foods and live very differently from the mainstream.

Information Everyone Needs for Optimal Health!,
By Marcia Jones (Marietta, GA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Living Foods Lifestyle (Paperback)
I'm so grateful that Brenda has taken the opportunity to share the road from disease to health for all who are interested! In 1979, I was diagnosed with cancer and given 6 months to live by 3 different doctors at Stanford University who were furious that I would not submit to surgery, chemo and radiation. Brenda did what I and many others have done over the years to get our health back. People who are sick today can do it too! But the best case scenario would be that many of you will adopt Raw and Living Foods as a preventive measure and not wait until your body is compromised and on the verge of expiration! Blessings to all! Marcia Jones, www.TidesOfLife.com

A Wonderous Guide/Introduction of A Great Way To Live Better,
By Perry Langham (Conyers, GA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Living Foods Lifestyle (Paperback)
This is a great introduction to Living Foods explaining the Lifestyle and the 10 day course which faithfully contines the work of Ann Wigmore.Starting out with introductory info including biblical quotes and historic facts and 30 testimonials of healing and benefits of the Living Foods Lifestyle, the book then gives us the author's pertinent life story. This book is an easy read as Brenda very carefully and succinctly explains details and moves us from one point to the next. The stories are well told and entertaining. She directly explains disease processes and allergies showing us why Living Foods will prevent and cure illness. She then shows us the basics and why of Living Foods and sums up the Body-Mind-Spirit Connection. She gives a summary of the 10-day training classes given at the institute and presents about 60 great recipes in the book. This is must reading for anyone that wants to be healthy and it is a great reference to keep handy for more than just the recipes. I took the Living Foods Lifestyle course in Atlanta, GA and recieved many benefits from it. One of the most remarkable changes I found was my cholesterol dropped from 256 to under 200 and I had more energy. I highly recommend this book and the course. You'll want to get copies for family and friends, especially ones with illnesses.

A good book,
By
This review is from: The Living Foods Lifestyle (Paperback)
This is a good read. It was helpful but some of the book is very repetitive so after I heard it for the 6th time I just skipped over some of the stuff. It was very interesting how eating raw living organic foods helped her and I belive it's helped me. It's a lifestyle not a diet. I wouldn't say this is one of the best books out there but it's not bad either.

Chock full of information on live foods, this book is simply amazing. Most everything in it is very do-it-yourself, quite a bonus for those of us who can't get to a living food detox center. Brenda Cobb did an excellent job of breaking down what one needs to do and what one needs to eat to get the body back into a state of wellness, and I am healthier for having found this book.

I'm Living Proof that this isn't Accurate,

Two years ago, in August of '09, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, incurable cancer of the bone marrow. I passed on conventional medicine and did the Gerson Therapy for two years. It involves 12 vegetable juices a day, coffee enemas and a fruit/vegetable diet. After two years on the therapy, my disease was stable (it worsened the first few months and then held stable) and I was exhausted. Since I didn't feel well and I hadn't improved, I switched to the Gonzalez protocol and Dr. Gonzalez told me to eat red meat 4-5 times per week plus eggs and dairy; all organic, of course. He prescribes a different diet for everyone based on genetics; some patients are on plant based, raw diets and some eat red meat three times a day. I happen to be in the middle so I eat a variety of plant and animal foods. Once I moved from a plant based diet to a diet that includes a lot of red meat and other animal products, my cancer began melting away. You can read about it at http://curingmyeloma.blogspot.com/. Please feel free to contact me via my blog with questions. The point here is that a plant based diet works for some but certainly not for everyone. Red meat does not feed cancer. Cancer is like cockroaches; it'll thrive on anything you feed it. There are studies that show that sugar, fruit, meat and even Vitamin C feed cancer. It's a matter of what you choose to believe. Anyone with a blood disease such as leukemia, myeloma and lymphoma needs red meat, sometimes in very large quantities. If a plant based diet makes you feel great, then that's what you should consume. But it doesn't work for everyone and it didn't work for me. I think Brenda Cobb is a fantastic, vibrant, amazing woman but I don't believe this lifestyle will work for everyone.
