5.0 out of 5 stars An outstanding contribution to the field of grief counseling, June 5, 2000
This review is from: Living with Grief: Children, Adolescents, and Loss (Paperback)
Living With Grief: Children, Adolescents, And Loss draws upon a wide range of contributors to address the entire spectrum of issues relevant to the grieving process of bereaved children confronted with the loss of a loved one. Produced as a companion publication to the Hospice Foundation of America's seventh annual National Bereavement Teleconference, Living With Grief is a seminal, benchmark, highly recommended publication that will prove invaluable for students and practitioners of psychology and counseling, as well as health care personnel, school staff, and social workers charged with a responsibility for helping young people deal with catastrophic loss and the revelation of personal mortality.

I have not read this book all the way, but what I read has been very interesting and informative. I am getting ready to graduate this Spring and my major is Human Services, so I am trying to get information about all different types of situations. This book should help!

I am taking a course in the topic of Thanatology. Ken Doka, the editor, is well known in the field as are the authors of the articles in this book. It is a collection of writings that explore studies in the field of children and death as well as programs for high school students, teachers and counselors. I found it very helpful and easy to read.
