Book Description

A healthy gluten free diet doesn't have to be hard.

You want to eat more healthful and nutritious foods.

You really do.

You’ve also recently been diagnosed with celiac disease, or have discovered you are gluten intolerant and feel much better when eliminating gluten from your diet. Perhaps you’ve been gluten free for some time now, and are ready to kick your nutrition up a notch. Your goal is to make your food, and your life, more than just gluten free.

You’re ready for a lifestyle, not a “diet.” You want to make healthier choices in eating and in activity. You want to make those choices easy, and a part of every day.

This is a “fast action guide” to get you started on your healthier life today. Each one of the seven tips has a companion “do-this-now” component to get you moving. You get checklists, questionnaires, worksheets, practical strategies and survival tactics.

Here are samples of the steps:

Step 4-Have Healthy Foods Handy:

Ideas to implement immediately for making healthier food easier to grab, and provides a list of easy gluten free and healthy snacks.

Step 5-Set Aside Time to Prepare:

Easy ways to get your cooking done, and includes a worksheet on putting together simple yet flavorful and healthy gluten free meals.

This manual is easy to understand and quick to implement. It allows you to save the time you would have spent researching and studying all this information, and spend that time enjoying your new healthier gluten free lifestyle.

But-you must put the steps into action. It is up to you to make the changes. This guide provides a system with a step-by-step plan to live healthier starting now.

I just wish Erin's guide had been around when I first started the gluten-free diet 6 years ago. Erin not only offers great ideas for simple, healthy and naturally gluten-free foods but her humor and no nonsense attitude is truly comforting (which would have been oh so helpful to me when I was a newbie to this lifestyle and fraught with desperate emotion). I highly recommend 7 Quick Start Tips for Living a Healthy Gluten Free Fit Life, not only for those who are new to the gluten free diet, but for anyone who is in pursuit of a healthier mind, body and spirit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Valuable Workbook for "Eating and Being Well" Gluten Free September 21, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I've long been a fan of Erin Elberson and her blog, Gluten-Free Fitness and Nutrition. She is both personable and down to earth as she shares great information on transitioning to eating gluten free and healthy while also staying fit. Erin covers celiac and gluten-free topics on her blog with knowledge and ease and I was happy to see that those skills readily translated to her book. I love the way I felt like she was talking directly to me when I read it. Truth be told, I wish I'd had her book when I first went gluten free because it's a valuable workbook of sorts ... with lists and tips. It even includes some recipes, or as Erin calls so many of them, "not really recipes." By that, she means dishes where you just use a concept and go from there, adapting as you like. That kind of creating and cooking is important for those folks transitioning to living gluten free who don't want to spend hours in the kitchen. And quite frankly, I don't know anyone who wants to spend hours in the kitchen. We want to eat well for sure, but it shouldn't be laborious to do so, even if one is gluten free. Appropriately, Erin's motto is "Eat well and be well." That's common sense knowledge that we can all implement by reading and using her 7 Quick-Start Tips for Living a Healthy Gluten-Free Fit Life!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gluten free living just got easier!! September 20, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
7 Quick Start Tips for Living a Healthy Gluten Free Fit Life helps take the "fear" out of a life altering dianosis. It is a very easy read and allows a newcomber to celiac (like myself) to learn as I go and immediately impact my life with proper and healthy food choices/selection. The author clearly has put some life experiences into making it easier for others to "manage" instead of "cope" with celiac. Having celiac may change your eating but it doesn't have to rule your kitchen. Glad to have the resource.
