This book has helped me understand who I really am in Christ as well as any book I've ever read. I keep several copies at home for give away when I feel it is appropriate. Some folks see Gene as "controversial" because of his stance for "house churches", but this book is vintage Gene. This book is NOT about house church...it's about YOUR life! It has truly affected my walk with Christ in a dramatic way! Try it for yourself!

This is the first of 3 books in a series on the Deeper Life. If you've tried everything and are still not "measuring up" then you need to be set free. This book will help to do that for you. You may have to read it 3 or 4 times 'to catch it', and that's because initially you'll read through your the glasses of your current "world view" or "view of church". But once the Spirit of Truth breaks through those glasses, you'll start to see that you cannot live the Christian Life...only He can. Jesus couldn't do anything apart from His Father and we can't do anything without Jesus. He is the "Door" to the "other realm".. to the "spirituals". You've heard it all before but Gene Edwards does an excellent job of setting you up so you can understand God's purpose for the church.. for you.. and it's so remarkably refreshing and liberating. You'll start praying for MORE of Jesus and you will stop trying to live the Christian Life. It's really very simple: Kill the flesh ( take it to the Cross ) and enter into fellowship (both individually and corporately )with the Father and the Son! It's your choice: When you get up in the morning do you put on 'your life' or do you put on "the Highest Life".. His Life? He is our Life! He is the Tree we need to be eating!
