My mom got this for me at a young age and I was always rather hesitant to go past page one with the cassete provided for that lesson. Several years later, when cassetes were replaced by CD's and MP3 players...I picked it up in my attempt to become fluent in my "first love" in the world of language.This book does not drill French phrases into your head, although there is repetition...it is like a radio program...a story that you follow along with. The user must repeat conversational sentences like: "All right, I will drink the orange juice"(18). The dictionary and book are fun and have simple yet elegent pictures to go with them. There are also coresponding poems and songs to go along with each lesson, and I found them to be quick and catchy ways to pick up on the French language. This program is geared toward children,but adults may use it as well.I believe that if anyone allows themselves to be swept up in its' straight foward pacing they will be on their way to fluency. I have been using it along with the adult Living Language course and several other language learning tools. The only downside is that my cassette player broke and a cassette player is a must have for this program...I must get another. :)
