4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and Informative, February 14, 2008

This review is from: Living Language: German: 2008 Day-to-Day Calendar (Living Language Phrase and Culture Calendars) (Calendar)
Our 7 year old daughter is in a German immersion elementary school. This calendar has been an interesting and informative way for all of us to learn additional German phrases.

Without a basic understanding of German, this may be a little advanced for the beginning language student, but still interesting. It would be helpful if all of the words in the daily phrases had phonetic spelling(not just the word of the day)for those of us just beginning to learn the language.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good guide to German phrases!, February 8, 2008
This review is from: Living Language: German: 2008 Day-to-Day Calendar (Living Language Phrase and Culture Calendars) (Calendar)
I was actually born in Germany while my parents were both stationed there, and we lived there for 5 more years. Naturally, as a little kid, I couldn't help but pick up German. But, as we moved back to America, my German skills have diminished while i grew into adulthood. But recently, with the help of German movies and small phrase guides like this, I've largely become fluent again. This calendar isn't perfect, but its an enjoyable way to pick-up on some of the everyday phrases German speakers use, and some cultural tidbits as well. I'm looking forward to trying the Italian one next year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sehr nett., January 4, 2008
This review is from: Living Language: German: 2008 Day-to-Day Calendar (Living Language Phrase and Culture Calendars) (Calendar)
I minored in German in college, but I can't speak it fluently. This little day calendar with a new phrase for each day of the year is so cool! So far I've already learned how to say, "I have a hangover!" (Ich habe einen Kater!) in German. ;) I'd recommend this calendar and give it 5 stars.
