I teach French to elementary school children and I love this calendar! Do I use it with my students? Nope. I keep it at home. Most entries are too advanced, which is precisely why I enjoy it. If you're looking for basic French, there are any number of other learning tools & gizmos you'll enjoy more. If you're like me and you already have a good command of the language and enjoy more advanced turns-of-phrase and expressions, this is the calendar for you. Bonne lecture!

Good product for intermediate to advanced students of French. It has a lot of idiomatic expressions as well as some slang expressions that I have not seen in textbooks. Also I find it useful to help to improve my vocabulary. I buy a new one every year.

Actually, I would like to review the Living Language: Chinese, Day-to-day Calendar (Living language Daily phrase and cultural calendar) instead of the 'French' one since I purchased this for my son as a gift.I bought the French version for my son as a gift, so I do not know how good it is, but I got Chinese version Day-to-Day Calendar as a Christmas gift and I am using it everyday and so, I can give you a 'review' of what I think. it is a good Calendar overall, except one thing. When it has Pin Yin only on the page, I have trouble figuring out which Chinese character it denote because there are several Chinese words has the same pin yin (that means, sound alike). It would be good to have the answer section to reveal which Chinese characters is for this pin yin; so that when I am in doubt, I can look it up in the answer section (may be in the back of Calendar section). Of course, this comment is for the manufacturer not for Amazon. I have been very happy with Amazon, no complains. |
