to "wrong choice" Pauline,
This review is from: Living Legends of Gospel, Vol. 2 (DVD)
African Americans often come together to rejoice in the lord. Although we do not know each other, we are able to dance together, shout together and pray together with the help of great gospel music and great rhythm. We have much to holler, moan and cry about. Our ancesters often made up songs while picking cotton to pass the time away. These songs are still sung today. So far as "looking wild", wildness comes in all colors when one is feeling the holy ghost. Perhaps a toned down version of these songs (mormon tabernacle choir) would suit your fancy.
It is often said that "the more educated, the less ignorant".

I am sooooo glad that I purchased this DVD! Trust me, these legends PERFORM!!! What a beautiful way to enjoy praising the Lord at home as you listen to the beautiful vocal gift of harmonized 'Gospel' singing from the soul! Buy it, you won't regret it. I am VERY pleased! This deserves more than 5 stars!!! As a matter of fact, I'm now ordering Volume 1 and can bearly wait until it comes!!!

Kind of raw. Not what I expected. Lou Rawls looked out of place on some songs. One of the Mighty Clouds of Joy seems to "hog" in all the song by other artists. One or two bright moments though and should have expanded on the artists history more than they did.

Just to have Tommy Ellison, Troy Ramey, The Swanees, Willie Rogers and all the others on the same stage is unbelievable. These dvd's Living Legends Of Gospel Vol. 1&2, give you just a microcosm of what good gospel quartettes are all about. What a great way to spend and evening. If you really know anything about these 'Legends', you'll run get these discs. Long Live 'GOOD GOSPEL MUSIC'

I don't like to listen to the type of gospel 'yelling and loud cries' from Black groups. it is like missing some of the music and not getting the words in sequence as they should be. THEY look and sound WILD
