a great "best of" compilation, March 15, 2010
This review is from: Living Life Backwards (Audio CD)
this is a great "best of" compilation of brown's recordings during his harvest years. remastered, the songs sound fantastic. with 17 songs, i believe this cd clocks over 70' or close to it. old and newer songs combined. many of the titles are my favorites, so it is an added bonus. "high flying electric bird" is one of the best songs, for me. i'm sure if you are familiar with pete, you know he did a lot of songwriting with jack bruce. many of cream's songs were written by brown and bruce. he also did work with the late, great, graham bond. aside from music, i believe pete edited a few poetry books from the 60s london beat scene. anyway, pete has been around in a lot of ways. if you're curious of his music, this is a good place to start. the lyricism in his songs are very beautiful even if you may not like his voice.
