Ty Herndon's Sophmore Attempt Soars!,
By Music Fan-atic "Glen" (Hogwarts) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Living in a Moment (Audio CD)
By the time this was released by Sony in 1996, I was already a Ty Herndon fanatic and this CD only helped me become further entrenched in the ranks of his fan club! For those of you out there that are reading this review and do NOT own this CD, what in the world are you waiting for? This by far, will definately be a "career CD" for Ty, being his most commercially successful to date. This CD is full of passion, love and pain, everything that makes for a good country album. From the bubbly, impassioned love song "Living In A Moment" through the pulse-pounding, gospel flavored "Returning The Faith" and into the heart-touching "She Wants To Be Wanted", whether fast or slow this album keeps its momentum through "Before There Was You" into the tear-jerking "Don't Tell Mama" (which, in my opinion was a missed hit, this song is a true country gem, sadly left out as a single hit-pure powerhouse song!)and before you catch your breath you are launched into the pop laced "Loved Too Much" and the touching "Her Heart Is Only Human" and the sensible "Love Don't Work That Way". As you are trying to recover you are left with the megahit "I Have To Surrender" and the beautiful, melodious "I Know How The River Feels", yet another Herndon jewel sadly overlooked in the hits department. This song is one of the most touching love songs I've heard in a long time and definately a fan favorite beautifully rendered by this country great. This guy has one of the most powerful voices in country today and although this CD did serve as a springboard to put Ty into the spotlight there will be more greatness to watch for in the future. Hopefully Epic will learn to pay more attention to the gems that they have and figure out how to showcase them properly. This guy deserves greatness but has been unfortunately overlooked. Want some country greatness? Buy this CD! It's a gem! Greatness from beginning to end, no filler here folks!

Best of the bunch!,
By Kathy (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Living in a Moment (Audio CD)
It seems that with country albums in particular, there are always a few songs on an album that are never released as singles, yet these hidden gems somehow manage to outshine the ones that do make it on the radio. Living In A Moment is a case in point. The title track is fabulous, and is still one of my all-time favorite songs, but there is so much more to this album! "Loved Too Much", "I Have To Surrender", "Love Don't Work That Way", and "I Know How The River Feels" are fantastic songs are easily worthy of being released as singles. There isn't a single song on this album I don't like. I have the first 3 of Ty's albums and this is far and away his best.

This is my favorite album. One of the few I have that you can listen to all the way through. The best songs are Living In a Moment, I Have to Surrender, and Loved Too Much. I highly recommned it.
