113'Wembley Arena Farewell Concert.Extensive tracklist concentrated on the Telekon album.New versions of the older songs in the MORE electronic style that album featured.Hysterical audience is mixed deafeningly loud in the mix.Excellent overall sound, with incredibly heavy bottom, ear slicing upper treble and VERY aggressive midrange.Vocals are more present than on other Numan's live recordings.
I personally liked the LO79 better but this one is overkill !!!!!

I've loved Gary Numan for years, even though his only really big hit here in the USA was "Cars." He's continued to make great electronic rock, and has been a major influence to countless other artists like NIN, The Killers, and anyone else who isn't afraid to use synthesizers. I am so thrilled to have been able to find the Living Ornament shows on CD and add them to my collection. Now if we could them on DVD!!!

The third 2CD release in the Living Ornaments series, this complete, uncut recording of Numan's 'farewell' concert at Wembley Arena in 1981 was a new edition to his large live catalog. While the original Living Ornaments LP box featured the '79 and '80 shows, this is the first time this officially appeared.
A long show featuring every hit to that point, plus new material from the then-new Dance album, this is a must live album. All of the Living Ornaments sets are a must. The performances and recordings are excellent all around. Check the setlists from each one, but know that the quality is top notch. The mix differs from the previous two releases, sounding ornate and louder; indeed the audience is roaring. The bass is not as crisp and oomph-y as the '80 shows, but that's a just a preference. This was a retirement show as Numan sought to escape to the studio indefinitely--a very damaging career move, it would turn out. The Dance material, quieter and more somber, does translate well to stage, showcasing the sideways move he'd made from Telekon. Highly recommended to fans, these sets are a little pricey (available as imports) but well worth it. For a 'cult' artist, Numan makes a massive amount of material officially available. Numan has also released Engineers, another 2CD set of a complete 1980 show on his official website. Again, complete soundboard show, excellent as well.
