Some come back...,

It's been twelve years since Jim Capaldi's last great studio album,"Some Come Running"(1988).His new work is worth the wait, surprising the listener with a very concise and disciplined rock, and also with some hints at his past work with Traffic. As always, there's a lot of soulfulness in Capaldi's music-he has a certain hopeful and shining vision, emerging in articulate songwriting. This time around those invited to the party include:Gary Moore,Deep Purple's master drummer Ian Paice,Steve Winwood, and George Harrison;the last two were heard on "Some Come Running" as well.

Jim's last new album,

This would become Jim Capaldi's next to last new album(although he does remake a couple of his oldies) and it's one of his best. I always liked Jim better when he shed the synth pop sound and went for a rougher bluesy sound which works quite well here. As usual, for a Jim album, it features many guests including George Harrison in one of his last appearences. The songs are great for the most part and this version even has a bonus video at the end of the disc which the other versions don't. If you like Jim, you'll like this album.

Give this a listen and you will be hooked,

Jim Capaldi the drummer for the amazing band Traffic was always overshadowed by Stevie Winwood and Dave Mason but once he stepped out from behind his drum set everyone realized just how amazing he was himself.I am a big fan of Traffic but became even a bigger fan of Jim Capaldi. This is a great album and I have to say we lost Jim much too soon.

Lyricist/poet/rhythm/rhyme master without peer,

I hope Traffic gets into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on first vote. They were a fantastic group, and it would be a very fine thing to see them in Cleveland USA next year receiving accolades and various forms of encouragement from long-standing fans. Jim's poetry is wonderful! I'd recommend deleting the video in the next edition. It makes the guys look a bit like dirty old men hoping to hit on 13-year-old-nazi-euro chicks. Bad form. Come on home--it's not so bad, and we need your sensibilities to get back on track to world peace.
