This is classic Rick Springfield. His third album of the eighties is harder rock than his first two. The words Springfield has written here become more meaningful once you read his autobiography "Late, Late at Night".

5.0 out of 5 stars This is my FAVORITE Rick Springfield album!, July 8, 2011
This review is from: Living in Oz (Audio CD)
I can't say enough about how good this album was for its time. Diverse in every aspect of rock, from soft to heavy, to even danceable tracks. Very talented writing, playing and singing on the whole thing. The title track is worth the purchase alone. Affair of the Heart, still a kicking heavy track along with Motel Eyes. Souls just builds and kicks! Pick it up. :)

Rick Springfield's "Living In Oz" album was released in 1983 after he left TV's "General Hospital" and before he released his first theatrical film (and only movie) "Hard To Hold". Like his two previous RCA efforts "Living In Oz" would go Platinum making Rick one of the most successful rock artists of the eighties.

Highlights here include "Human Touch", "Affair of the Heart" (for which Rick received a much-deserved Grammy nomination), "Alyson", and the touching "Like Father, Like Son" that Rick wrote for his dad who died from cancer in 1981.

I purchased this as a gift for my daughter. She was really pleased with the CD. I received it in a very timely manner and it was in excellent condition.

Great CD. I had this album when I was in Jr. High back in the heyday. I love Rick Springfield so I finally got the CD. All the songs on this CD are great but I definitely love Motel Eyes and Souls. They both have edge to them.

This CD is worth adding to your collection.

I ordered two of this CD. One for myself and one for my sister. We were huge fans of Rick's and we have both been enjoying Living in Oz immensely. The CDs arrived quickly and in perfect condition. We couldn't be happier.
