As I wander through my choices of the bands in the Late 80's to the 90's to be the favorite in the bunch for an upcoming column, Satan and Adam have remained on the top of my list through all of it.

My first experience with the experience of Satan and Adam came when I was a young Harmonica player in Boston Ma, I was dating a ballerina at the time and she had said that the band that ha dplayed in U2's Rattle and Hum would be there, so we wandered out in the cold Boston night to Johnny D's in Sommerville.

The room exploded ,the sun shone, I think even my shoes came untied with all the moving around we were doing. Point being that it was an experience that I would never forget. We still chat about that night whenever emails are a flying.

I have seen them all over, they appeal to the masses, unifying and inspiring all they touch. As a sound engineer I send many days on the road, and I am more than happy to say "Hey Man, Check this out", when something really gets me good.

They have and will, Adam and Mr Satan you are my choice for the Best of the 90's.

5.0 out of 5 stars amazing stuff!!, May 25, 2008

I've been watching Adam Gussow youtube lessons since last year. And so far I didn't had put much atention to his former band, wich he always brings into the lessons. I decieded to hear some of his stuff outside the lessons. and... wow. I'm amazed. Probably it's the most interesting harp playing that I've listen in the last years. I mean, there are many out there trying to still play Chicago blues or some southern blues version adapted to this days, wich can become interest lacking after a couple of years. But Satan and Adam it's something completely new. A mix of blues, soul and funk, with a huge amount of energy inside every song.
Most of my non-blues fan friends can listen to 4 or 5 songs before they lose interest in the music. But with Satan and Adam they just seem to enjoy it as much as I do.
This one and Mother Mojo are great albums. I'm buying Harlem Blues soon, and I'm also listening now to their new, in the streets, "Word on the Street" album.

I like their second CD slightly better than this one but all of their music is good. Pick up Adam's book Journeyman's Blues as well...it's a collection of columns he wrote for a blues magazine during the time he and Mr. Satan were traveling together.
