one of my german friends sent me this cd for christmas... at first i was like "i don't know... " -- thought it would be pretty poppy, but i'm really likin' it. if you like the foo fighters, or similar bands, i think you'd enjoy this. so... pick it up and give it a shot.

I love this cd. I bought it when I was in Prague after hearing it in a store . It's really great high energy melodic hard rock/punk with killer vocals and really strong songs. Buy it!!

Haha I'm another American commenting on this album. I first heard the beatsteaks on my most recent trip to Germany. I was staying in a really remote location (a town called Hinterzaarten right outside of Frieberg(sp)), and there wasn't anything around for me to walk to. So basically, I just stayed in my hotel room and watched German MTV the whole time. Now, one thing in particular that I have noticed about a lot of foreign MTV's is that they get pretty repetitive with their play lists, and this was no exception. Most of the songs they were playing over and over again were crappy imports from America, like paris Hilton. But I always managed to get real excited whenever they played Beatsteak's "Jane Became Insane". Now, that's an awesome song!! It's not on this CD, but you should totally check it out. Anyways, I downloaded this CD expecting the same type of tunes that were brought about in Jane Became Insane. Although they are definitely not identical, there are still plenty of up-tempo songs to keep you amused. This is a greaT band, and a great album. I have no idea why this piece of awesomeness hasn't been brought stateside. Oh well. A gem for the Europeans to keep themselves. =)
