5.0 out of 5 stars A True Gift, March 7, 2001
This is the book on Tarot that I have been waiting for. It is the first book, of many that I have read, that makes the Tarot practical; that is, it presents the various Keys in such a way that one can immediately use them to positively impact your life. It is easy to read, inspiring, motivating, and totally engaging. In addition to explaining each Key, Amber includes personal examples from her life and from the lives of her students that clearly show how to put the perennial wisdom of the Tarot and the Qabalah to immediate use. There are many excellent books that deal with giving predictive type readings to oneself or others. This book is unique in that it uses divination to bring "the divinity present within each of us and all life situations to the fore." Here the Tarot is used, not only to bring wisdom and understanding to our daily experiences, but also to explore the questions that remain after all the affairs of daily life are put in order; such as, Who am I? What is the origin, substance, and goal of life? How do I use the Tarot to align myself with, experience, and reflect the Divine? This book is a gem, written by a person who deeply understands, and lives, the magic of the Tarot. It is at the top of my list of recommended books for people who are serious in their study of the Tarot.

5.0 out of 5 stars At last ! A practical, reflexive approach to the Tarot. I've not found any other like this., December 24, 2005
By
At last! A reflexive and practical approach to the Tarot! Between too many books about Tarot, almost all of them only with a predictive approach to this ancient wisdom, here comes an important tool for the serious wisdom seeker. I strongly recommend it to all esoteric students. For years I've been looking for a book that not only tell me about the meanings of each card, but that also guide me with reflexive questions to view the tarot wisdom in my own life and current circumstances. The added value of this book is the recommendations about how to integrate each arcane in you life. The personal experiences of the author and their students give you a clear idea of how to "live" the tarot. The Case's Tarot Deck, which is used as the images in this book, is an excellent deck. The incorporation of the Hebrew letters associated to each card is an asset of this book and the images inside it. I don't buy things like these if I'm not sure they are serious, but this book is different. I think I would buy some as gifts to some friends.

Pity it is not available in Spanish !!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous, user-friendly, complete guide on Major Arcana and integration of it, January 21, 2010
By
Jayanti is a natural teacher: easy to read, unthreatening, and at times downright funny. In this book about the Major Arcana, and suggestions for integrating its lessons into daily, routine life, Jayanti addresses each card, explaining symbolism (much that is not examined -- or known -- by other "specialists") and the beautiful life suggestions that come with each card.

The initial chapters are excellent examples of Tarot principles -- very down-to-earth and intuitive to follow; a good base for Tarot enthusiasts to remember.

Any person desirous of a spiritual compass, mirror, and lessonbook would be well served by this simple, unpretentious, and inspiring book, filled with pertinent, natural daily life exercises.

Some Tarot readers/users, although they proclaim differently, can be pretentious (in their "loving" ways), too-elevated-for-thee (thou?), or self-satisfied in their knowledge, even if that's negligible. I am a former student of Ms. Jayanti, and must add here that, different from so many Tarot practitioners, she is a joyous, very approachable, non-"foofy" person -- absolutely the best for approaching Tarot, which is exaggeratedly and often deliberately mystified by many who forget its more elevated, largely personal uses. Living in a paradise for artists, lefties, and remaining hippies types who compete in looking and presenting themselves as "alternative" and "artistic (read: a lot of surface doo-doo)," Amber Jayanti's approach was so very refreshing and real. Hopefully I will take more of her courses, which are uplifting and full of information, imparted in her lovely Santa Cruz home. Thank you, Amber, wherever you may be.
