As someone who has struggled for years to try to get to grips with a very busy life, where I can't easily 'switch off' - I've been looking for a simple introduction to mindfulness, especially one that I can just dip into whenever I catch myself thinking more than I should about things!
Well...I've found it with this thought-provoking book! It's written a way that you cannot help but get dragged into the 'now' and start appreciating life and the people and things around you so much more. Highly recommended for both people who are just interested in what mindfulness is through to those who already know a lot about how beneficial living a more mindful life is.
I have signed up for a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course this autumn and became a dedicated follower of this wonderful way of life. Since I am looking for ways now to support other people do the same, I wanted to find books to make it easier, lighter for them. This little booklet contains mindful messages for the everyday use, you can randomly open the book, read and take to heart the one that pops up. That one can become your "mantra" for the day. Simply wonderful, worth every penny (cent).
This is a beatifully written book that seems very simple when you read it, yet goes very deep when you really think about what you've just read!
I personally let it fall open at a random page each morning to give me something positive, uplifting, and mindful to focus on during that day. Definitely a worthwhile addition to any mindfulness collection!
The book is juvenile and very common sense. So common sense that it is common knowledge. This book would not inspire a tween to look for answers to life's questions. Without knowing that I read any of it, my husband picked it up and started reading it. He asked me why I was reading the book. I told him that I had read enough and the information was plain common sense and shallow.
