"Each tune was a revelation" says John Kruth in his liner notes as he recalls the time he first listened to the session tapes of this previously unreleased recording (from 1971). That is just how I felt as I listened to brief sound samples of this cd. Only I did not believe it at first as samples tend to highlight the 'best parts' of songs, and I also remember wondering just how good can a guy - whose released catalogue has been practically ignored during cd era - really be? No worries there, what you hear is what you get. This has all the elements of a solid folk album: clever lyrics, beautiful melodies, warmth and humor. As Eric passed away in 2007, record companies did little to celebrate his life in music. Well, all the more reason to get this little gem while it's available.
