No magnifying glass needed,

Giant print Bibles can be anything from 10 to 14 point font size, so check first before you buy. This is truly in giant print; a 15 point font size! It is very easy to read without magnifying glasses.
The NLT (New Living Translation) is very easy to understand, because it's the English that's spoken today. It does not veer away from the King James version at all, in my opinion. This Bible is attractively hard-bound, in a creamy color and texture. It resembles a school textbook, rather than the familiar leather that's common in most Bibles. So whether it's a bookcase Bible, or a Sunday-go-to-meetin' Bible, this will do quite well.

Nice Translation,

I started reading the New Living Translation while working through an upper level course on Greek exegesis. I was simply looking for a version that emphasized a sentence-by-sentence translation as opposed to a word-for-word translation (because I was required to do this type of translating for my assignments). I was pleasantly surprised with the NLT. It is a very impressive work, and makes for very smooth reading. The translation team also made the wise decision to translate the dates in the text into their modern equivalents. So, whereas previous translations might read that a certain event happened in, say, the twelfth year of a certain king, the NLT will (based on historical data) read that it happened in "586 BC" or "on April 22nd, 722 BC" They have also done the same thing with other forms of measurement (including currency, weight, and time). This makes the events seem much easier to relate to.
For these reasons (and others too) I think this is a really good version. So, if you are looking for a translation that focuses more on the overall meaning of each sentence, and not just the meaning of each word, I heartily recommend this one.

NLT Bible,

I was looking for a Bible easy to read for both translation and type setting. This Bible was excellent in both categories. I can now read my Bible without my eyes squinting or getting tired and read longer because the translation is in modern terms so I don't have to ponder on what the message is really saying. This would be a great Bible for new Christians who are eager to understand the word of God without constantly looking up references.

Giant print was great but the pages are so thin, the words on the back side of the page bleed through and make it hard to read.

I bought this as a gift for someone. Two people in my family have this NLT version and love it. The giant print is a plus. I am not sure if this a "study" version but it makes for good reading of God's Word.

I found this bible to be just what i needed. The reading made the scriptures easier to understand and the print is so large, it's a great tool to have for my bible library.

I bought this bible for my mother. She loves the large text. Her only complaint is that it is really heavy, but it is a nice hardcover with good binding. It is a great value.

This is a wonderful Bible! The type is very big which makes it easy to see but the wording and the way it is translated makes it such a joy because now my son can read it and understand what it means. We simply Love this Bible.

For those who have trouble deciphering the small print found in most editions, this product will bring "blessed" relief. A favorite translation in easy to read print will take the squint out of reading efforts. The New Living Translation takes the squint out of trying to understand the scriptures. Recommended highly for its ease of understanding and ease of reading.

Large Print New Living Translation Bible,

This review is from: New Living Translation Bible (Giant Print) (Hardcover)
I was looking for a large print bible with a translation that I could live with. I generally study from Hebrew and Greek roots for in depth meaning, but I will say this translation speaks to my heart. It makes the Bible easy to sit down and enjoy and brings forth God's Word in a very understandable format. I actually purchased the bible for my husband who needs the large print due to vision impairment. This was the only Bible I could find with 'decent' large print, other than going to a pulpit edition with 18 font, which would have been very heavy and bulky. The font in this NLT is as advertised - GIANT - 15 Lucerna - as opposed to even a large 13 or 14 type font, and easily readable, understandable, and well laid out. I would definitely recommend this Bible.
