I have always "liked" DSB. I love a big voice. When "Histroy Repeating" came out, I loved hearing her in a contemporary song- and that video! Just great! This song deserves a lot of attention- the song itself is just THAT good. OMG! She cracks a sound barrier or two- at 70 years old! I am in absolute awe of her vocal abilities. There is NO singer near her age or even half her age that sounds this spectacular. Check out her live performance on YouTube and you will sit there with your mouth dropped open to the ground. 'Never The Bride' has written an excellent song with great lyrics and a sound that is a perfect match for DSM. This should have been the theme to 'Casino Royale' instead of their wimpy, forgettable choice. Radio stations in America will never pick it up-they stink, but if you like old school pop music and appreciate amazing vocals- get a copy.

The Grand Dame is back, and bigger than ever. The Living Tree is new fresh, and exciting, and Bassey delivers as only she can. A song reminisent of the classic hits, but with a fresh sound. I guarantee, she will not disappoint. Her is voice is still great and she holds nothing back. The living tree is already a huge hit in England and Europe. hopefully the US will be next. I can't wait to hear the forthcoming album of new material. I urge Bassey fans, and all music lovers to get this single. FANTASTIC!!!!/BRAVO DAME SHIRLEY!!

This dame is out of this world at 70 yo still belting. Those AM Idols should take a lesson from her. To thnk that she started at 16 yo and has been singing for 54 years,now I can't think of any in her level. To think that Barbra S. snub The Dame at one time. Lets see if she can still sing at same level when she reaches 70

However, I can't get the DVD to play ?? Any suggestions from previous reviewers or present owners ?

At 70 and still hitting those great notes. She is one of the best undiscovered singers in the USA but the world knows how great she is. Now and forever, what a voice.

This woman could sing 30 years ago. and she sounds even better now.She is probably the only real diva in the world of music. will be buying the new cd soon.

I have been a Bassey Fan for more than 40 years - and my love affair with her dynamic voice has yet to wane. This CD is an absolute MUST HAVE! Dame Shirley's rendition of "The Living Tree", like every other anthem of freedom she sings, reaches nerves and chords in the heart and soul that few singers know exist. Track 3, the 'Shaken and Stirred Mix', is "pure Bassey" - ever reminiscent of the eternal "Goldfinger". Track 5, the 'Superbass Vocal Remix' will shake you to your knees. Truly, though, any version is worth the price of this CD.

I couldn't agree more with the other posters... This is an incredible song from DSB, whom I'm just discovering in all her styles throughout the years. My CD changer in my car is now filled with DSB albums.

I can't say how thrilling this cut is; unfortunately all the cuts are compressed MP3s :-( ...NOT uncompressed .cda files. BUMMER.

The videos are not playable on your DVD player, only on your PC... They're two MPEG1 videos and unfortunately very low quality and not playable on a TV.

To see them, insert the cd in your PC, and using explorer double-click START.EXE at the root of the CD or just double-click the CD name in My Computer. You'll get the album's cover art and you can click on the two videos which unfortunately appear in a 3x5 window- you can zoom it, but it's MPEG1 which is more like YouTube, not DVD quality (MPEG2)

But this wonderful song makes up for quality issues. and I couldn't agree more that this would make a great Bond title sequencce (you can even hear John Barry's four note intro to the Bond theme throughout Living Tree!) Too bad Maurice Binder is no longer with us.

A living legend.Nobody does it like the "DAME".A voice to die for.There is no one to match her,young or old.It is America's loss.This lady has been bringing down the house, for half a century, in Europe and Australia,and continues to do so.She is timeless.Her voice has matured like a vintage wine.There is no stopping " Dame Shirley Bassey".

All the previous reviews were right! How does she do it? Dame Shirley Bassey manages to keep getting better, she looks great and she has that voice no one can even come close to, and to think she's been sharing her gifts for over 40 years. An amazing song, a perfect performance and a complete joy, my jaw just keeps hitting the floor every time I listen to this. You may think, "So many versions of just one song" but do yourself a favor, if you like Ms. Bassey in any way, shape or form, get this CD, now! 5 stars, and then some.
