To say that they would not have some kind of fish smell to them would not be logical but my cuttlebones did not stink you would have to put them directly under your nose and take a big sniff to even smell anything. These fit very nicely in the JW pet cuttlebone holder sold by amazon which I also purchased. It keeps the mess in the cage. These were the perfect size for it. Anyway my parrot loved the cuttlebones.

I've had birds for almost 25 years and given them a lot of cuttlebones. This is the first package I've ever opened where the cuttlebones both had a putrid fishy odor. One had discolorations on it as well. I'm not going to use it as there is clearly something remaining besides the mineral. I'm not blaming the seller, but it's the last time I buy them online. These were from Thailand.

My parakeets love this,

I have four parakeets and they love this cuttlebone. The first cuttlebone was gone in a matter of days. Although it is advertised for cockatiels and similar-sized birds, these were fine for my small birds.
