This is a good book if you are looking for a general point of view about Brazil's history up to recent years. I'm a History student in Brazil, so I could say that this is an easy way to get to know a little bit more and whitout getting estressed in the beginning...

This book is very easy reading yet has a lot of details. I haven't finished it all the way through but use it for reference when I need background on a specific historical event or period.
