About the Author

Russ Case is the group editor of the monthly magazines Reptiles, Aquarium Fish International, and Freshwater and Marine Aquarium, as well as the annual magazines Reptiles USA, Aquarium USA, and Marine Fish and Reef USA. He lives in Southern California and has been a reptile and amphibian enthusiast since he was a small child exploring the wilds of suburban New Jersey in the 1960s. Lizards are his favorite herps, but he's also very fond of snakes, turtles and amphibians, and he has kept many different types over the years.

Lizards make great pets, and this book can help get you up to speed on how to care for them before you bring one of these reptiles into your household. The fun design and easy-to-read text is suitable for kids, but the information is appropriate for any age level.

You may not even realize how many different species of lizards are kept in captivity until you read this book. As a potential lizard owner, you have a lot to choose from. This book will help you make the right decision.

This book is one of three written by Reptiles Magazine editor Russ Case. All three are extremely easy to read, full of useful information and a great introduction to the care & keeping of reptiles.

My teenage son has read all three and the only problem now is choosing what pet to start with! I can highly recommend all three.

All kids seem to be entranced by lizards. I wish that when I lived in the desert I knew as much about them as is in this book. My friend's 9-year-old is a city kid, so I got him this, plus "Snakes" and "Turtles & Tortoises." He'll be smarter than I am about desert creatures when he's done reading them.
