With an owner who works for an American Embassy, Lizzie travels to new parts of the world every year or two. Arriving at their new post in Tbilisi, Georgia, Lizzie must begin a new life. She quickly makes friends with other dogs, visits a cave city, explores the historical center at night, and has many other adventures. When her owner is ready to move on, Lizzie must decide if she will go with her, or escape and stay in Tbilisi with her new friends.

Great story and exciting journey for budding explorers,

This is a great book for kids. It allows them to learn about another culture, one they have probably never heard of, but that is so ancient and rich. My daughter, age 5, really enjoyed the book. We followed Lizzie's adventures all through Georgia, and it mirrored the adventures and transitions necessary for kids to make too when their parents choose this line of work. I think it's a great book to read to spark imagination and questions about far off places, and also a great book for diplomatic families to read as it addresses moving on and leaving friends, holding on to the opportunity to make new friends in the next place you land.
