No s lo mejor q e oido d Rata pero si mejor q algunos otros disco d ellos mismos. 2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
Rata Blanca used to be power metal and you will be disappointed if you expect power metal from this album. I would even not tag this as heavy metal. Guitars have very weak distorsions and many times there is no audible guitar. The beat of some songs is good, and this makes this album deserve at least 2 stars, otherwise I would give it one. If you are looking for power...

4.0 out of 5 stars DESTILANDO ENERGIA, January 26, 2009
This review is from: Llave De La Puerta Secreta (Arg) (Dig) (Audio CD)
EN ESTA ENTREGA RATA BLANCA COLOCA LA ENERGIA DE SIEMPRE, AUNQUE NO OFRECEN GRANDES INNOVACIONES EN SU ESQUEMA MUSICAL, NO DEJA DE ACENTUAR SUS DESARROLLOS ARMÓNICOS DE LA MANO DEL VIRTUOSISMO ENCANTADOR DE LA GUITARRA DE WALTER GIARDINO.

5.0 out of 5 stars The most varied Rata Blanca yet!, October 22, 2008
Rata Blanca take their powerful song-writing to yet another glorious high with this winner of an album. They experiment with blues, hard rock, pure-out heavy metal, power ballads, rock and roll and rock ballads in this varied album. Adrian Barilari's strong vocals and Walter Giardino's melodious guitar shine through in every song. The lyrics are soulful and beautifully meld in with the instrumentation. Despite experimenting with a variety of styles, their traditional classic heavy metal Rainbow influence is present throughout the album. Old faithful fans of the band don't need an introduction to the genius that is Rata Blanca and won't be disappointed with this offering. As for new fans, La Llave De La Puerta Secreta is an excellent album to check out if you like meaningful lyrics, heavy metal delivered with panache and recast into new terrains of fusion.

\m/ Go Rata Blanca!!! \m/

5.0 out of 5 stars A Latin American Headbanger Icon, August 1, 2006
This review is from: Llave De Puerta Secreta (Audio CD)
La Llave de la Puerta Secreta is legendary Argentinean Metal/Hard Rock based act Rata Blanca's eleventh release into the US market.

Reinforcing the attitude demonstrated in previous DVD En Vivo-Teatro Gran Rex (Live at Gran Rex Theatre) -which captured a striking soiree playing shoulder to shoulder with former Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, Glenn Hughes- this upcoming production lays over a committed Headbanger substratum that, while it expands over assorted influences, remains in some regard constant in the succession of its various states.

According to Walter Giardino -Rata Blanca's guitarist, composer and backbone, the particular lyric twist of some of the tracks of La Llave de la Puerta Secreta is not only inspired in epic tales about knights and empires but also attached to a specific book. "I felt a strong hook when reading The Da Vinci Code, some kind of alliance with its author". That's what leads him to state that "Powerful religions manipulate our faith" in track # 2, "La Llave de la Puerta Secreta".

While most of the songs abide by the epic background that has defined Rata Blanca's mindset, some of them bring into play different thoughts.

"Aún Estás en mis Sueños" (first single), an addictive Soft Metal ballad a la previous multi-awarded "Mujer "Amante", might well be the most powerful in the brunch. One other such example is "Guitarra Española", a savvy Hard Rock progression of Gypsy and Arabic milieus or "Blues", a tune that explores unvisited territories for the band.

La Llave de la Puerta Secreta was recorded at La Nave de Oseberg studios (Buenos Aires, Argentina) in 2005 and mastered at Spanish Sonovox studios. Today, it's released all over the US under Delanuca Records / DLN Distribution.
