While José Luis Rodríguez (El Puma) does not sing typical Venezuelan music, but rather, pop and ballads, his voice is unmistakable and his talent is unmatched. His silky-voiced ballads are incredibly romantic but he can still get people moving with songs like Agarrense de las Manos, among others. This cd does not contain all of my favorites such as Esa Chica Me Vacila, Cara de Luna, and Pavo Real, but other collections are available. I recommend it!

I have collected the music of this versatile performer since 1990. His voice is sweet and smooth like honey..perfect sounds for a sunset picnic with a glass of fine wine. He is unsupassed at singing romantic ballads, mariachi, and also has recorded great dance numbers..check out "Fiesta 2"..one of the few great "old school" entertainers left.

There is only one collection to avoid.."Piel de Hombre"; way too many somber, sad, and melancholy tunes. (But, JLR's voice does make Julio Iglesias sound as awful as he really is!) other than this album, you can purchase any of his work with confdence that the entire collection will be a superb showcase for this amazing voice. Great music, great vocals, and Jose Luis Rodriguez is not hard on the eyes either!

He's a fine example of Venezuelan music. Not only does he sing superbly, he also writes with incredible taste. I highly recommend it. Thanks.

ONLY JULIO IGLESIAS CON RIVAL EL PUMA'S ROMANTIC VOICE. NOT ONLY IS HE A GREAT SINGER, BUT HE ALSO WROTE HIS OWN SONGS, SOMETHING MANY OTHER GREAT SINGERS NEVER DID. LUIS MIGUEL DOESNT WRITE ANY OF HIS OWN SONGS, BUT PAYS PEOPLE TO WRITE FOR HIM. BUT THIS GUY SANG FROM THE HEART, AND HIS MUSIC REPRESENTS THE BEST ARTIST VENEZUELA HAS EVER PRODUCED. "EL PUMA" IS THE MAN.

I had like J. L. Rodriguez, because he have excelent voice. I bought recientely " Jose Luis con Los Panchos ", this CD and other are wonderful.

It is a shame that this is the better know artist of Venezuela overseas. He is an example of bad taste, and deserves to be forgotten forever. Please review other titles of real Venezuelan music, like Harps, Folklore, etc.
