Not Only a Greatest Hits Collection,
By
This review is from: Lo Mejor De Laura Pausini (Audio CD)
This Cd is a must-buy, even if (like me) you have all of her cd's in spanish and some of her releases in italian. First of all there are two completely new songs, the excellent "Volveré Junto a Ti" and "Dime", a duet sang with a guy named José "El Francés", who sounds much alike spanish singer Alejandro Sanz. Then, you've get fresh new renditions of her hits "La Soledad", "Se Fue", "Amores Extraños" and "Gente". As well, there's a new version of "Cuando Se Ama" ("Sei que Me Amavas"), sung half-in portuguese with the great brazilian singer Gilberto Gil. Then, for people who live in countries where her italian albums haven't been widely available, here in Chile only her first two italian cd's have been available, there's "La Mia Risposta" (from her fourth italian release). And last but not least, you've got "One More Time", before only available on the soundtrack of the american movie "Message in a Bottle". All this plus the original versions of other hit songs ("Las Cosas que Vives", "Inolvidable", et al.) It's one of the most intelligently done "Greatest Hits Collection" that've been released lately, because it's not only a mere-repetition of all her previous work. Bravo Laura!

OOPS LAURA!,

This review is from: Lo Mejor De Laura Pausini (Audio CD)
Well Laura has finally released a Greatest Hits. Sadly for me her early hits have some unneccesary arragments. Specially GENTE is ruin. SE FUE, AMORES and SOLEDAD, should remain original!, why do they change it, I'm really upset. But the rest of the tracks happily remain in their original version. It's utterly neccesary to mention to say Laura Pausini is one of the vocaly gifted woman of the earth. This is a worth to own album....*****FIVE STARS to Pausini talents, *ONE STAR to the new arragment to the original early cuts.

Beautiful, Excellent,

I have heard many songs by Laura before, and have always loved her voice. She reminds me a lot of Rocio Jurado...the two of them have an opera-like voice, but sweeter and softer vocals. I had never owned a Laura CD, but "Volveré Junto a ti" along with "Entre tu y Mil Mares", "Escucha tu Corazón" and her voice is more than enough reasons to own this CD. Currently 3 people in my household have this CD!!! God bless you Laura and thank you for your beautiful and mesmerizing voice. Viva Laura.

An Honest Review,

When I bought this CD, I only knew four songs: "Amores Extraños", "Soledad", "Gente", and "Se Fue". However this CD enhanced those songs, and their styles were change. I think they did a great job doing that, the strings and the background combime perfectly with Laura's voice to give the listener a "brand new" song. The other songs in this disc showcase Laura's voice and uniqueness. However the only down side to this disc, is Gilberto Gil in "En Ausencia De Ti" his voice didn't exactly combine with Laura's and at certain times when he had to hold high notes you could hear him going out of tune. Besides this I think this CD has wonderful lyrics, sounds, songs, and is a must have for fans, or ballad lovers.

One of the best compilations of greatests hits,

This review is from: Lo Mejor De Laura Pausini (Audio CD)
Although I'm not a fan of Laura Pausini, I bought this cd because it includes most of her Spanish hits. The tracks that come from her first album (Laura Pausini) are reworked with a full orchestra. They sound simply beautiful. Also, of the 3 new tracks, "Volvere Junto a Ti" and "Dos Historias Iguales" are simply magnificent. Two of the best songs she has ever recorded. If you like ballads and mid tempo music, buy this album.

Great cd!,

I only heard of Laura Pausini when I got hold of Entre Tu Y Mil Mares and since then I have been a big fan, even though I don't understand Spanish. I purchased her older cd's and while I liked them, they sounded dated to me. That's why this compilation cd is great. I, for one, loved the newer versions of the older songs. It's obvious a lot of thought were put into the string and vocal arrangements. And the 3 brand new songs are awesome. The only complaint I have is the song Cuando Se Ama. I do think the original version is better - it had that melancholy sweetness to it - while this new duet (not that it's bad) has a more matter-of-fact feel. Overall, this is truly an enjoyable cd.

LA MEJOR DISCO QUE TENGO,
By
This review is from: Lo Mejor De Laura Pausini (Audio CD)
I first listened to a song from this C.D. in a coffee shop in Spain. It was track 4 "son amores." After listening to this song I immediatly asked the worker in the coffee shop who it was by. I then bought the mejores C.D. and I love every single sony on the C.D. The words are beautiful, the beat in the songs are awesome, and now I am going to buy the rest of the CD's. This is definitely the best C.D. that I own, and the first C.D. I have ever bought that I like every single song on. I would reccommend it to anyone studying Spanish or anyone who speaks Spanish. Me encanta. Ojala venga a los EEUU para hacer un concierto!

Great NewAge Latin Rock,

This is our first album from this artist. We heard her singing the last song in the movie "Message in a Bottle"(One More Time) and we were excited about her sound. This album was a risk well worth taking the combination of her voice, haunting lyrics, and the people that she has used to produce this album make it a very satisfying listening experience. Laura's voice is pure and has a hint of a huskiness that combines with the Latin beat and flavor to make it a rich set of songs. Coming back for more.

Excellent CD from an Excellent Singer,

I was pleasantly surprised to come upon this new release. As a long time Laura Pausini fan I always look forward to listening to new material she puts out. This album does not disappoint. The three new songs are excellent and I like "Dos historias iguales" best. I enjoyed her re-interpretation of "Cuando se ama", the duet with Gilberto Gil. This CD is well-done and not just another plain "Greatest Hits" effort. There is a reinterpretation of some old material and the appearance of some new songs. This CD will be a delight for both old and new Pausini fans.
