Miguel Bose's musical maturity began with Bandido and has grown...he never fails to surprise me...his rendition of Salome on ONCE MANEREAS PARA PONERTE UN SOMBRERO is sheer genius! He deconstructs the music, like Picasso deconstructed the images in his paintings: all the elements are there--and recognizeable--however, they give us a fresh and exciting new perspective...a sophisticated Iberian way of looking at the world...His new album offers us a new approach to his most successful compositions. Vale! Miguel Bose is an outstanding example of what Latinos the world over can do: be contempory, sophisticated, articulate and SUCCESSFUL! Bose accomplishes all this without abandonding himself to cross-over pressures to ANGLOcize! He is an example that we Latinos can be international, MULTI-lingual and the very best at whatever we choose to do. Our Latino artists were awesome long before Anglo-America deigned to give Ricky Martin fame (when he was already famous to begin with...)and Bose is one of the MOST AWESOME of the awesome! Que va! REALLY, buy it! Bosé sigue siendo el mejor cantante en español. Su voz, sus composiciones.... Estas versiones de sus canciones se adaptan a los nuevos sonidos de la música actual. Hace difícil elegir entre las canciones de este disco y sus versiones pasadas. De todas maneras Miguel Bosé sigue siendo el ídolo de siempre, y siempre supera sus discos pasados. Este disco, Directo '90 (en vivo), 11 maneras..., Bajo el signo de Caín, Laberinto valen la pena tenerlos todos.

Este CD es lo mejor de lo que a dado Bose a la musica latina contemporanea... y eso que le faltaron mas canciones;; pero las eligidas son exelentes y las nuevas versiones quedaron super bien; aunque las versiones originales siempre seran mejores...y siempre estaran ahi... Bose no necesita cantar en ingles para dar su musica a conocer internacionalmente hablando.. tiene la calidad y la voz para romper todas las fronteras.. sin necesidad de cantar en un idioma que no es el suyo....

Hace 20 anos que oigo a Miguel Bose. Algunos temas de este CD son de su viejo repertorio pero da gusto oirlos. Si nunca compraste un CD de Miguel Bose este es el CD! Tiene todo! Lamentablemente no han incluido un "sample" de "Solo Pienso en TI". Ese es su ritmo! La musica no es todo en Miguel Bose, las letras de sus canciones tienen un algo de sarcastico, un poco de humor... Y ademas su voz es TAN sensual...
Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, Luis Miguel... todos ellos aprendieron de Miguel Bose a moverse... y todavia le imitan el estilo!! Por favor! que alguien haga justicia a este artista!!

Meeting Bose, is lake haveing an encounter with the magic that comes from within. It is always an exiliriating experience to lisen to his lirics, his music is just tabu. Si te cuentan que cai, Duende, Sevilla, Hojas secas.. they are fixtures in the minds of all dreamers of all those that are in search of magic. Miguel thank you for the extraordinary gift of your talent and your eternal serch for magic. The more you lisen to his music the more you understand...

I heard a track from this album by sheer chance and I was immediately hooked. I'd never even heard of Bose before but I ran right out and bought this album. I was not disappointed. I don't speak more than abut 10 words of Spanish but it didn't matter. The melodies and his voice are enough for you to catch on to what the song is about. His voice reminds me of a Spanish Roger Whittaker. It's smooth and rich but raw when called for. My favorite tracks are #4 Hacer por hacer and #15 Partisano.

Miguel Bose has been around the block. He's put out some great music and this compilation album does a great job at summarizing the best of his works. Besides his classics, he included in here two '99 versions of his well known works "Amante Bandido" and "Nena", with new arrangements that turned them on their heads into full fledge dance songs. There is no weak spot on this album. It's a well rounded compilation from end to end, highlighting the work of one of Spain's greatest pop artists ever.

With a very sensual style and sofisticated voice, this CD offers
crisp, modern, seductive and elegant music. You never get tired of hearing it over and over.

Si bien estás las canciones que contiene este CD son las más solicitadas, creo que hay algunas otras que debieron formar parte de este albúm, para que pudiese ser considerado como "Lo mejor de Bosé". Me hizo falta escuchar temas como "Te amaré", "Ne me quitte pas" "Salamandra", "Manos vacías" y "Si te cuentan que caí". Sin embargo, las nuevas versiones de "Amante Bandido" y "Nena" al igual que el resto del álbum.

Even though the songs that are part of this CD are the most requested ones, I think some other should have been part of this production, in order to be considered as "Lo mejor de Bosé" ("The best by Bosé"). I missed hearing songs such as "Te amaré", "Salamandra", "Ne me quitte pas", "Manos Vacías" and "Si te cuantan que caí". The new versions of "Amante Bandido" and "Nena" are great, just like the rest of the CD, though.

Yes, it is true that Miguel Bosé has hit his forties, and with it a look back of what his life has been. Not the personal one, although one cannot divorce the artist from the human, but of the artist that through his songs has created a unique sound. He offers here more of less two songs of each of his records, for those of us who have grown with him, they are just a new shuffle of the songs that we are used to listen. But for those whom the name does not ring a bell, buy it and you will listen to the essence of his work. Cleverly, he is giving us two new songs, and two remixes to actually have the need for the record. Listen to the Lorquian poetry of 'Sevilla' or the fun of listening to a new sounding 'Bandido' or 'Nena.' I am hoping that his recent brush with death brings some more depth to a much anticipated follow-up record with new music. Until then, the melodies of 'Si tu no vuelves' will sound in my ears... However, I am hoping that he does return with the quality that he infused 'Hacer por hacer.'
