The first time I heard the song "Amor Eterno," (the first cut on the first CD of this album) I was in a singing class. A young Mexicana--one of my classmates--belted it out with so much expression that I was almost moved to tears. It has the combination of beautiful melody and lovely lyrics (Eres la tristeza de mis ojos/lloro de silencio por tu amor--Translation: You are the sadness in my eyes/I cry in silence for your love) that stir your heart and are also sweeten your ears. Rocio is a true cantante de las canciones romanticas (singer of the romantic songs). Most of the music on this double CD album is either slow enough for a romantic evening, spent in the company of a lover, or is lively enough with spicy lyrics that make you think. Either the soulful Spanish songstress is beckoning the embrace of a sweetheart or turning away to reject the heartbreak from a failed romance.

My favorite tracks, by far, are: "Amor Eterno" (Track #1/CD #1), "Perdoname Olvidalo" (un duo con Juan Gabriel--he wrote this track along with "Costumbres" and "Diferentes," which are featured as tracks #1 and #8 on CD #2). Rocio's voice is best-described as purring, expressive and very sexy. She sings in a comfortable mezzo range and really captures the mood and the content of the songs in her interpretation. It is no wonder that she is so popular in her native country of Spain and throughout Latin America. This is what I like to call traditional romantic Latin music at its best. Stay close to someone you love and enjoy this album.

Even though not Mexican, Rocio Rurcal is placed among the great singers of Mexico. She sings with such passion and soul. She will be considered one of the most influencial singers of her time. She will be placed among the great singers of Mexico, with the likes of Amalia Mendoza, Lola Beltran, Lucha Villa and Maria De Lourdes. This c.d. is one of great ones.

I have been a fan of Rocio Durcal for many years but with this musical collection she became an Icon of the Mexican song. Although Rocio is from Spain she sings the songs of Mexico as only a true Mexican at heart could. This collection offers the listener a good variety of songs from the treasured "Ranchera" to the new "Romantic" sound. Rocio sings "Amor Eterno" with passion and soul and perhaps in the best style of any other singer. This collection of music is pure enjoyment. Rocio Durcal is certainly a great artist!

One of the truely dedicated and talented women in the music industry gave this cd some reasons to listen, but not treasure. Some of her best songs come from her original recordings.

Beautiful voice, beautiful melodies of the # 1 singing Lady
from Spain (she's sold over 40.000.000 records) who, as a matter
of fact, sadly passed away about a month ago. I can't give it
5 stars because of the company that released this CD: how can
you release a double CD with 32 tracks and not give any information on the authors of the songs nor one word about the
singer?? Whether it's rock, country, blues, folk or whatever
piece of music, I'm always interested on who wrote it. On this
double CD there are incredible beautiful songs that - if they
were sung in English - might hit the top 10 on Billboard. Now
I will have to find out through Google who wrote each and every
song something that will take some time. A real pity!

If i'd been older I would have married her. Her husky voice is so groovy.

This CD is one of the best CD's I have ever had. I have always loved Rocio Durcal and loved all her songs as well. She is a wonderful and passionate singer, a true Latina at heart. This CD is a must, a treasure.

I have always liked Rocio's style and voice
though it would be great if there was a CD
with her older songs from when she was much younger
and made movies with Enrique Guzmán.

Ex. "Cartel de Publicidad", "Trevole", etc...

What a wonderful collection of Rocio's work. I am a great fan, so I might be a bit biased, but, I do enjoy the music here.

For those who like Rocio Durcal's songs, you'll find most of her nicest works on this collection. The quality of the sound is quite good, and the quantity is just right to get over any cravings on her music. My wife (who actually bought this item) loved it, and I am sure my mother will also enjoy it (I recorded it in her MP3 player as well). Good choice of songs.

Para aquellos que gustan de Rocio Durcal, esta colección contiene algunos de sus mejores éxitos. La calidad del sonido es bastante buena y la cantidad de canciones es perfecta para quitarse el antojo de oir su música. Mi esposa (quien compró este disco) quedó encantada, y estoy seguro que a mi mamá le va a gustar también (ya grabé las canciones en el MP3 que va a obtener como regalo de navidad). Buena selección de canciones.
