Maraca has some hot tracks in this album. There is a variety in the rhythms that should have made this a great album. He does some straight up timba, timbaton, son montuno, etc. Unfortunately the brass is a let down. The problem stems from only having one musician record all the different parts for all trumpets and trombones.

While some talented musicians might have been able to make this work, here the end result is predictable mambos. This problem becomes chronic as you continue to listen and get to tracks number 6 and you realize that the mambos not only are predictable within an individual track, but that you are hearing the same or very similar mambos throughout the whole album.
