The Dervish is a subtle beast. At first, I thought "nice board, nice flex," but I didn't quite get what all the fuss was about. Five minutes later, I'm starting to feel it. Ten minutes later, I'm flicking in and out of carves with knees and ankles rather than leaning and creaking into carves. And after an hour, another pleasant surprise: my legs aren't doing the aching-and-shaking thing that tells you to call it quits, and my feet haven't gone numb from vibration.

A lot of reviewers on a certain longboard site rate the Dervish a 4 or 5 (out of 5) for stability. They are confusing controllability with stability. The Dervish is controllable and precise in spades. It's a finely-tuned carving instrument that flicks and weaves with small inputs. But stable? Please. Stability is the enemy of maneuverability. Yes, a long wheelbase and low center of gravity add stability, but mad flex and loose trucks make sure it's a party right up to a 30-mph sanity check. As a wise man once said, "You want stable? You buy horse. Or speed board."

That said, the board's limits aren't sudden or scary, but progressive (Being an idiot, I felt the need to find them). Somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 mph, my attention was about 80% on trying to keep the board under my feet and about 20% on looking for a place to bail. This is Dervish for "You want faster? Really?"

Yeah, it might be more than you've ever spent on a longboard, but give it a half hour and you'll be so hooked you won't let any of your dumb friends near it.

This board has changed my life. I used to skateboard quite a bit when I was kid, and a good friend of mine recently got me into longboarding. He knew about the Dervish and kept reiterating that it was the best one you could buy. I took him up on his word and took the plunge, there is no doubt the price is somewhat high so it can definitely be a barrier.

However, there is no doubt that this board is worth every penny and more. Once your feet get to know this board it is one of the best sensations I've ever experienced. The board bends and flexes so much it makes riding on most cement surfaces seem like gliding on a cloud thanks to how much dissipation the design offers.

Thanks to this board I rarely drive my car anymore, because riding this board is basically like driving a mini Bentley under your feet. Buy this board!!

I've owned many sector nine longboards, and I've ridden my friends flexdex board, which is fun... but nothing compares to this board. The drop through trucks and cut outs make this board AMAZING for carving and easy sliding, and the boards is just flexy enough that it will give you back enough energy return with it... while maintaining enough stability for you to jump around with tigerclaws and body varials and do some dancing moves too. This board runs great with Paris or Randal trucks, and i would recommend any BigZig wheels... just decide what style of riding you want and get the right duro for that. Anyway, my point is, this board is a great all around board. BUT if you're looking to do more specific styles of riding... like strictly dancing.. i would look into a loaded dancer or a LBL dancer (that ones cheaper and just as good as the loaded one)... but if you want a great all around board that you can take with you almost everywhere.... buy this board!

it's an excellent board and i've enjoyed a lot, just to let everyone know, it doesn't comes with Inheat and paris 180, it comes with durian and gullwing

I was introduced to longboarding on the Loaded Vanguard, and had to get another Loaded. The Dervish is fast and stable, low to the ground so it's easy to kick and stop, and super flexible! If you've never been on a Loaded bamboo deck, you can jump on the center like a trampoline and your feet will touch the street!

One comment, it does have 75mm 80a Orangatang In Heat, not 70. These wheels are very large, which makes them great for street cruising.

I got a Loaded Dervish a few months ago in October and I have loved the ride. I got Paris 180mm trucks to begin with but the bushings were a bit stiff for this kind of board, might have been a fluke though. Anyway, I changed out my trucks for a pair of Gullwing Chargers I had on my Sector 9 carbon spoontail and it became an incredible carver. I love the active flex of this board, it just feels amazing. If you've been on a stiff board you will be amazed at the difference a ride on this board will make. I still love my other boards but I ride this one 8 out of ten times.

I am the brother of the previous reviewer, Peter Westermann. Like Peter, I skated quite a bit as a kid, but have long since abandoned it.

Recently, my brother started getting me into longboarding, and wouldn't stop talking about this amazing longboard he just bought called the Dervish. Naturally, I was intrigued, and after stepping onto his for the first time I knew I had to get one. It felt exactly the way he described it: like gliding on a cloud.

I have since then gotten my own Dervish, and no, it's not cheap, but it is definitely worth every penny. In fact, I wonder why they don't sell them for more.

Get a Dervish -- you won't regret it.

I was completely amazed, by not the board, but how fast it came... my mom wont let me open it till Christmas but I have had the board before and so I know it will be awesome, but these people ship fast and it looks like they packaged it very, very well.... JOB WELL DONE!!!

This board is amazing and I have no regrets purchasing this board. This was my first longboard and the reviews looked promising but I wasn't sure. But once I have received the board I am sure I made the right choice. THIS BOARD KICKS ASS! This has to be the nicest board I have ever ridden and I am loving it!

Purchased the "Loaded Dervish skateboard" Talk about a great product. The board is amazing. The flex on this board is amazing as well as its ability to cut. The responsiveness of the board is out of this world. Conclusion: Great product and a great company.
