I discovered Brautigan in college. My best buddy introduced me to him. I spent countless hours with a pack of camels, my ass creasing a cushion on my couch, a dime bag decorating a cookie sheet in the middle of watermarked garage sale coffee table, Supertramp's Crisis What Crisis on the turntable, and Brautigan in my hands.
