1.0 out of 5 stars Simply Not Enough-Just use your fingers
I only used the product to take out my soft contacts, not to put them in, so I am not commenting on its insertion capability. I tried using this over a two week period and simply could not get the hang of it. I would pinch the contact and rarely would the contact actually leave my eye. When it did manage to remove the lens it slipped off and fell. Not good because I...

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the Lobob Soft Contact Insertion/Removal Tool, May 22, 2010

I always had problems removing my soft contact lenses at the end of the day. I would scrape with my fingertips and the lense would slide around until my eye would turn bright red. I'm sure the constant scraping wasn't good for the surface of my eyes. I was also always worried about my fingernails scratching my eyes. The soft tip on the tweezers allow you to easily grasp the contact lense. It almost always comes out at the first attempt now. I bought a second pair, one for my purse and one for my bedroom upstairs. By the way, I don't find I need to use the insertion tool. My finger always works pretty well for that, usually getting the lense in on the first try.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Helpers!, March 4, 2008
This review is from: Lobob Soft Contact Insertion/Removal Kit (Health and Beauty)
The shipping was very fast. The products work great, but they are a little pricey. However, I'm very happy with the tiny case that came with the kit. That's probably the main reason why I chose this insertion/remover kit over the other one. It would be nearly impossible to keep them clean without a case.

Not good because I do this in the mirror over the sink. It just doesn't seem to hold the lens.

I did learn one thing by using this and that is you simply remove the lens by placing the thumb (of the hand on that side of the eye, left eye, left hand) on one side of the lens and the index finger on the other side of the lens. Sweeping the index finger towards the thumb will cause the lens to fold in half and it will be pinched between the two fingers and thus the lens will come away from the eye. You can also sweep the lens to the outer corner of the eye and then grabbing it there.

Another trick is to take the opposite hand, reach over your head to the opposite eye, and pull the eye lid up (right hand, left eye). Use the fourth finger on the hand you are using to remove the lens (left hand, left eye) to pull the lower lid down. This exposes a large portion of the eye thus allowing your thumb and index finger to do their job. Use the same technique to insert the lens but this time just use the tip of the index finger to balance the lens and then move it slowly onto the eye. I have to mentally prepare myself just prior to putting the lens against my eye because I naturally want to shut my eye while I'm doing it. That's also why it helps to use the opposite hand to pull the eyelid up and the fourth finger to pull the lower lid down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Contact lense application, November 24, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lobob Soft Contact Insertion/Removal Kit (Health and Beauty)
When I purchased this item I also purchased two others as I was not sure which one would be the best. This kit is my favorite as it gives the perfect tools to handle and apply the lenses to the eyes. I would be lost without it. I also liked the Lensvue2, but not for application, simply for being able to view the markings on the contact lense, so I could tell if it was inside out or not. I would recommend buying both these, but I really think that the Lobob Soft Contact Insertion/Removal Kit is the best for handling the lenses. However the DMV Soft Lense Handler was no use for me. The lense stuck to it, and it just didn't help in inserting the lense to my eye. This was my experience, I hope it was helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing solution for taking your contacts out!, August 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lobob Soft Contact Insertion/Removal Kit (Health and Beauty)
I ordered three different available contact removal kits as I was desperate about not being able to take my contacts out, I would slide them and try to grab them with my fingers and by the end my eyes would be red. I was about to give up wearing contacts. This product is amazing! Eye doctors should give these out to every contact lens user!

I would say it takes 1-3 tries for each eye to get them out, so maybe 10-30 seconds total! I would recomend this product to anyone having trouble getting their contacts out. I can not judge the insertion piece as I never had issues putting them in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, July 6, 2009
This review is from: Lobob Soft Contact Insertion/Removal Kit (Health and Beauty)
I purchased this product a few weeks ago and it was the best item ever. I have long nails and removing my contacts was an absolute torture. But now, removing my contacts has been much easier. One of my contacts ripped as I inserted in my eye and the pain involved was incredible. The tweezer helped remove my ripped lens with ease. I would recommend this product to everyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars good and bad but still was worth the purchase, May 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

The insertion tool was a life saver vs a different brand of insertion tool i tried. I had trouble with one of my contacts always folding inside out on my finger but with the tool it remained straight and once i got used to using the insertion tool it made things a breeze. The bad is i found the removal tool a bit to rigid the tips are soft but the handle is to rigid to be used as a removal tool. They did end up being great tweazers for handling my contact lenses with though.

Ordered this to help get contacts OUT of my eyes. I don't have trouble getting them in, so I haven't used the insertion tool. The little "tweezers" are great at picking out the contact after I've slid it down to the outside corner of my eye. Little case is very handy to fit in purse, cosmetic bag, etc.
