Ana Barbara is not one of those singers who have a stunning voice that you can't get enough of. As a matter of fact, all of her past albums have offered 2 or 3 good tracks each, along with a few usless recordings and MUCH room for improvement. Following her career from day one I have seen her go from being a cluless new artist to a Diva in her own genre.

"LOCA DE AMAR" is an album packed with great tracks, a WAY more mature Ana Barbara (as a person and vocally), strong lyrics and great artwork. She shines in tracks such as "Loca" and "Bailando" and proves herself as a songwritter in the nostalgic and heart-felt "Lo busque" (my favorite track of this album and possibly the only track in her recordings where she conveys such sadness that it can actually make you cry). The lovely duet with Reily "No fue casualidad" incites the hope of a lost love who we just refuse to forget and let go.

Overall this is a great album, I enjoyed every track. It is definitely a disc you can play without wanting to skip over any tracks.

Pasan los años y sigue Ana Bárbara con más sorpresas. Que talentosa mujer! Es un orgullo mexicano y se merece el éxito que tiene. "Loca de Amar" es un albúm con mucha variación. Contiene temas bailables como "Loca" y "Bailando," y también baladas como "Me Mata Tu Ausencia" y "No Fue Casualidad." El disco está muy bien echo y las canciones suenan muy pegajosas. Arriba Ana Bárbara!!!

Una vez mas Ana Bárbara a la vanguardia musical presentando su nueva producción "Loca De Amar".

`La Reina Grupera' continúa sorprendiéndonos con su faceta creativa al participar como co-productora junto con Carlos Cabral `Júnior', compositora y parte esencial en el proceso creativo del álbum.

"Loca De Amar" es una producción musicalmente variada en donde se pueden apreciar ritmos bailables que van desde la cumbia, el pop, lo norteño y el grupero , el cual es el estilo que define a Ana Bárbara

Reuniendo a grandes compositores con temas como: "Me Mata Tu Ausencia" de Rudy Pérez, "Ya Me Voy" de Tulio Cremisini/Gustavo Santander, "Soledad" de José Luis Arroyave/Sergio Minski y "Bailando", "Si Te Dejaran" de la propia inspiración de Ana Bárbara hacen de esta producción una verdadera joya musical.

El primer sencillo que despunta esta producción es "Loca" un tema original de Alejandro Vezzani, una bellísima balada rítmica cuya letra habla de un amor imposible que puede conducir a la locura. Dicho tema se ha realizado en tres versiones con la finalidad de lograr una mayor difusión del mismo: versión original, versión norteña y versión pop.

El video de este primer sencillo " Loca " fue realizado en la ciudad de México por el producto Benny Corral, el cual en varias ocasiones ha hecho una exitosa mancuerna con Ana Bárbara, este video fue grabado en un hospital siquiatrico para darle el entorno adecuado a un tema que de amor que conduce a la locura.

Ana Barbara's voice is delightful like maple syrup. It's golden, sweet, and a little tangy, and her singing talent makes such good use of it. The song "Lo Busque" makes this CD worth the price. I heard it on the radio and I had to stop what I was doing and just listen. I wrote it down, bought the CD, and that song has haunted me for days. It's both sad and fun, the way Ana and the musicians banter and giggle through the song and still make you cry.

Ola! Don't understand Spanish or the lyrics. But Barbara can shake her maraccas for me anyday. Up tempo songs and good arrangements.

Latina pop is a guilty pleasure for me. I'm a hard rock guitarist and my friends give me a hard time but this album is infectious. The songs get under your skin. I find myself singing them in the car.

I like the traditional regional elements (like the accordion fills and bass lines) contrasted with the thick, melodic electric guitars. Honestly, it's like kettle corn. Salty, sweet, and of questionable nutrional value. But like a bag of kettle corn, I can't put it down!

It's amusing that purists denounce her as being "false" ranchera.

Listen, do you want "real ranchera" or would you rather have a good time? A true artist doesn't conform to a rigid set of arbitrary rules. They make the album they and their production team envision. This isn't music for the ages. It isn't meant to be. This is a solid, pop/mexicana album with strong hooks, on target songwriting and great production values.

Did I mention I love the cover art? If I knew where to buy the t shirt ,I'd wear one onstage.
